100 mile views, 2½ mi. to BR, hot tub & Kids Loft
100 mile views and located perfectly to explore everything in the High Country. You can have it all…location, serenity and privacy! On 20 private acres, only 2.5 miles from Main Street in Blowing Rock you can hike down to the private pond at the bottom of the mountain then shop & dine the picturesque town of Blowing Rock in one afternoon.
This 100 year old cabin has been updated to include a clubhouse area for kids, gorgeous master suite & balcony, and separate living area on the lower level.
You’re only 2.5 miles from Main Street in Blowing Rock. This cabin has a rich history in the area and was built by and eventually gifted to the caretaker of the Cone Family Apple Orchard. We’ve been hard at work updating and remodeling this beauty so that it maintains the rich history but includes the modern luxuries that you’re used to.
The cabin includes a main level with interior steps that lead to the clubhouse as well as a completely separate lower level that is accessed by way of the deck, allowing the opportunity for two master suites (one on the main level and another on the lower level). The main level sleeps nine (king bed, queen bed, three twin beds and a couch that converts to another queen bed), while the lower level sleeps three (one queen bed and one convertible sofa that converts to a full size bed).
Hands down, the best feature are the views, they are absolutely outstanding. This cabin has 100 mile views from almost every room, including the main level master suite. From the main level master, you’ll look out over Blackberry Gorge toward Charlotte and see until the earth makes its curve. If you’re not taking in the view with a cup of coffee from the luxurious king bed, you’ll be sipping on some sweet goodness out on the private master balcony.
While you’re enjoying some of that sweet solitude in the master suite, you’ll take comfort in knowing that the kids are resting well or playing games in the Clubhouse complete with sleeping cubbies and more fun than you can fit in a basket. Oh, and we put a sweet queen bed up there too…
In the evenings, take your time enjoying the 700 square foot deck complete with swinging egg chairs, charming gas fire pit or lounge in one of many Adirondack chairs.
Spend your days exploring the twenty plus acres. Strap your boots on for a hike down the mountain to the two acre private pond or take a leisurely stroll down the gravel road. Whether you adventure down the mountain or stroll up top, you’ll find more fun than you can shake a stick at.
Appalachian Ski Mountain is 5.5 miles, Tweetsie Railroad is only 6 miles away and ASU and Boone are 10 miles. Downtown Blowing Rock is just a 2.5 miles away. Banner Elk is just 25 minutes from the cabin and Grandfather Mountain is a quick jaunt on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
You’ll have access to the entire cabin main (upper and lower levels), huge deck, master balcony, hot tub and twenty acres to explore. Our property is meant to be a place of refuge and retreat from the normal day to day hustle. While you’re here make sure that you spend time in the hot tub, around the fire pit, swing in the swinging egg chairs and make your way through the trails throughout the property.
You’ll also have access to the two acre, spring fed private pond at the bottom of the mountain. It’s perfect for that late afternoon picnic or pond side lounge or leisurely fishing. Make your way up the stream to the top of the spring and find that the water comes right up out of the ground.
The main deck between the large cabin and the tiny cabin is a shared space. The tiny cabin may or may not be in use during your stay.

This cabin sits on 20 acres off of a private gravel road immediately off of 321 in Blowing Rock. We don’t have many neighbors, but the ones that we do have are very friendly and you’ll likely see them driving by as they come and go throughout the day. The cabin sits at the very top of the only road in and out of the community, so please be sure that you do not block the road in any way that might impede our neighbors from driving by.
Highway 321 will be cleared appropriately in winter months. As for the road off of 321 to this cabin, it is paved but in the event of inclement weather - 4WD or AWD is suggested in winter months.
While the road to the house does melt quickly, it can be tricky with snow.
If you’re headed further into the High Country, we’d encourage you to take a drive. We highly recommend taking the longer route on the Blue Ridge Parkway to get from where you are to where you’re going. If you’re looking for another scenic route, be sure to take Shull’s Mill road if you’re headed toward Banner Elk or Valle Crucis.
While you stay, there will be plenty of room to park. Feel free to park on the concrete next to the garage or on the gravel.
This cabin and the tiny cabin that is also on the property can be rented as one whole property (combining the tiny cabin and the big cabin) that will sleep a total of sixteen. If you’re interested in renting the whole property, please check out my other listings.
The main and lower levels of the cabin are not connected by interior stairs and both have separate entrances. The lower level can only be accessed by the lower deck.
There is plenty to do in and around the property and we encourage you to take a stroll down the private gravel road past the cabin as well as the 4x4 paved road down the mountain. Please do not attempt to drive down the mountain on the asphalt path unless your vehicle is equipped with four wheel drive (we’re not responsible for any stuck or damaged vehicles that may come from driving down to the pond)). It is VERY steep…perhaps a hike might be a better fit?
