"A beautiful view that changes as the day progresses. It's such a calming experience when compared to the pace and noise of Sapa. Being walking distance from both a Hmong and a Dao village. The restaurant breakfast has an ever changing menu and you overlook the rice fields and the Lau Chai village below. We took advantage of the spa and infinity pool that were both exquisite experiences. It's pricier than many accommodations in the region but you get good value for your money."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Loung Tap?
The best area to stay in Loung Tap is the central part of the town, particularly around the main market square and the roads leading off it.

This central area offers a convenient base for exploring Loung Tap. It's where you'll find the highest concentration of guesthouses, local eateries, and the bustling market, which is a focal point for daily life and commerce. The general layout is fairly compact, making it easy to navigate on foot. This area is particularly well-suited for solo travelers who appreciate having amenities and local interactions close at hand.

For travelers looking for a slightly more scenic and quieter experience, the accommodations located on the outskirts of the central area, often overlooking the rice paddies or hills, are a good fit. These locations provide a sense of tranquility while still being a short walk or drive from the main town.
When is the best time to go to Loung Tap?
The best time to visit Loung Tap is during the dry season, which runs from October to April, especially from November to February for pleasant weather.

During these months, you'll experience cooler, drier conditions that are ideal for exploring the region's natural beauty and cultural sites. The clear skies offer excellent visibility for enjoying mountain views and make outdoor activities like trekking more comfortable. This period avoids the heavy rainfall and high humidity of the monsoon season.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape will appreciate the comfortable climate for leisurely walks through the rice terraces and visits to local villages without the disruption of rain. The cooler temperatures also make evenings more enjoyable for dining and relaxation.

For solo travelers interested in photography and cultural exploration, the dry season provides superb conditions.
Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?

Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. If free cancellation is available, you can cancel directly through your Expedia account by logging in, going to "My Trips", and selecting your reservation. To find flexible deals, filter your search by "Fully refundable property" for hotels in Loung Tap.
How much is the nightly rate at a Loung Tap hotel?

All sorts of factors affect price, such as the time of year or the days of the week you choose for your stay. Find the best deals by being flexible with your dates, and sort search results by "Price: low to high" for the cheapest rate.
