Superior Views - a safe place on 13 acres With A Private Wilderness Setting


An amazing private setting and cute cabin 2 bed , 2 baths with big lake views on 13 private acres, yet it’s 1 mile to Superior and close to several big resorts and Lutsen ski area is one mile .Added a new gas fireplace inside and also has a great fire pit outside. Hooked up the WiFi to go with the satellite TV. Great for small families as it is close to lots of fun things to do at the ski area and near golf course too.

This cabin, (Superior views ) is very comfortable for smaller groups. It features one large bedroom, a 2ND bedroom Split from Master with a Queen bed and single bed. It has two bathrooms, one big full bathroom and a 2nd half bath , a full-size kitchen and living area plus an attached garage. There is also a screen porch and a deck, both with big views of Lake Superior. The main bedroom also with lake views .

The cabin ideally accommodates a family of up to 5 people.*
This property backs up to the Minnesota State Scientific and Natural area and hundreds of acres of private land. It is very close to the ski area, golf course and many great restaurants.

The screen porch is a wonderful place to listen to the animal sounds (but not be in a tent). Hiking trails, mountain biking paths, berry picking areas, access to lakes and rivers are all nearby and much more - the owner will be happy to help you figure out what fun things you might want to do. We have Sat TV and it has a great cell signal for phones and iPads and fiber internet.

*We do have a larger property nearby also on VRBO if you are needing room for a larger group.

Perfect location

We had a great time at the cabin staying for our snowboarding trip. Literally minutes from Lutsen Mountains and in a private, peaceful, and scenic location. Great views, great communication from the host, John. We would definitely stay here again!

Great North Shore Weekend

We stayed for a long weekend in September, the area is beautiful, and the cabin is close to all North Shore amenities. Restaurants, hiking, golf. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the cabin and would love to stay again! Bonus that it was dog friendly thank you for that option to be able to bring our dog with.

We had a great time staying at this property! John was fantastic to work with, I highly recommend staying here, especially if you’re skiing at Lutsen! This home is only about five minutes away from Minnesota’s finest skiing!

Perfect north shore location

We loved the cabin and all the amenities it offered. It was perfect for a small family and was accessible to most major north shore attractions near the Lutsen area. We had one rainy day and the cabin was a relaxing and spacious place to relax. We hope to come again!

Great location, everything we wanted to do was 5-25 minutes away. Cabin was super functional. Good measure of privacy, the living room, separated, the two bedrooms. Screened porch was great. Comfortable beds.

Perfect North Shore Locaion

My wife and I, plus our two dogs, had a great stay at the Lutsen Bunkhouse. The property is an amazing base site for enjoying the North Shore in the Lutsen area. We really enjoyed talking with John, the owner, and look forward to coming back in the future. Just a great place to relax!

Cozy getaway

The bunk was very cozy and we felt very relaxed there. The trees had beautiful color all around. We could access some nice walks/hikes right from the cabin. Had a nice fire pit, but we never had a fire. Would recommend this place 100%.

Great break on the north shore

Excellent property. Well maintained with a beautiful view of Lake Superior. We used this location to access several day hikes on the Superior Hiking Trail. A highlight was the quietness at night...no traffic, no unnatural sounds at all. Would stay again.

Great place!

We had a wonderful stay in your cabin. It was super quiet, which we loved. One of the best equipped kitchens we have had in a vacation rental. The mattress on the queen bed seems a bit worn out. Other than that, we loved the cabin and the whole area. Enjoyed hiking every day, and really enjoyed “date night” at the winery. Would definitely recommend your cabin to others and would love to come back ourselves.

Cozy and secluded yet close to adventures

We spent a quick weekend in the bunkhouse for my wife’s birthday with our two kids and neurotic dog (who was also celebrating his birthday). We were surprised at how secluded the cabin felt despite being so close to the Lutsen ski area. The living spaces are comfortable and we had a lot of fun cooking, puzzling, and adventuring. The host recommended a quick hike with great fall colors that was the perfect length for kids and had an amazing view. Unfortunately we ran into some soggy weather so we didn’t hike the property as much as we would have liked, but that also gives us a good reason to return.

Quiet spot overlooking the lake and extra space to hang out

So much bigger than we expected! Pictures online are a bit confusing; this cabin has a huge bedroom with fireplace and en suite full bath, plus another bedroom with a queen and a bunk bed setup, and a half bath next to the kitchen. The best asset was the giant screened porch and big deck, plus a hammock chair in the yard. For 5 adults, 2 of whom had to do some work while on vacation, there were plenty of spots to retreat for some privacy while still letting the rest hang out, cook, play cards and relax on 2 big couches in the living room. WiFi was excellent and host John was easy to contact. Rustic vibe and lots of personal photos and mementos on display, which we loved - felt like going to Uncle Bob's fishing cabin back in the day! Loved the washer/dryer and appreciated having plenty of toilet paper, garbage bags and dishwasher soap available - this is sadly not the norm anymore at VRBOs we've rented recently. Highly recommend and our adult kids have requested we try to book this spot again next summer!

Great Stay

Overall, we had a great experience at this rental. It wasn't exactly as we had expected-a lot has changed since the photos in the listing were posted. The second "bedroom" worked perfectly for our 2 and 4 year old kids. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed. No issues with anything not working. All of the rooms stayed warm and cozy and we appreciated the fireplace in the master bedroom. This space was more than enough for our family of 4 to spread out, play, and rest. Loved being so close to the mountain for skiing. We didn't have any issues that we needed to communicate with the owner about, but when we had a check out question, he answered right away. One challenge was that the road into the property and the driveway were extremely muddy (I realize we probably hit one of the worse weeks of the year for this). I was glad we had a good vehicle to deal with the mix of mud and ice on that road and driveway. To add to that challenge, the garage was very full of odds/ends that made it difficult to fit our car in there and unload our young kids from their car seats, but we didn't want to park in the driveway because we'd be ankle deep in mud. Again, I recognize this is just the time of year, but it would have been nice to have a little more garage space because of this or even a paved walkway to the front door. Thanks for letting us stay here! We'd definitely stay again.
