You'll be spoiled for sightseeing choice when staying in Wailuku. Maalaea Harbor is a good place to start here, but there are lots of other fine attractions to discover. Maui Ocean Center, Maui Nui Golf Club, and The Dunes at Maui Lani are not far from the place for ships to anchor and will fill in your day nicely.

This is a great stay on the usually outrageously priced west side of Maui! The kitchen had every amenity you could ask for, plus a washer/dryer in the room itself with complimentary detergent. Bed was comfy enough, and it felt more like an apartment than a hotel…very spacious
The downside was general room cleanliness upon arrival (you could feel the sand on the sheets and on your feet if you walked barefoot before we even went to the beach on our first day). We were also traveling with an infant/young toddler and were offered virtually no accommodations but knew this prior to rental.
Overall, a great value for one of the most pristine areas on the island.
