My room was located in a separate building at the rear of the main hotel. Functional is probably the best description but, again, the room showed a lack any maintenance with wallpaper peeling from the wall and mildew around the picture window frames. My room was freezing and there were no instructions on how the air conditioning unit worked. Once I had worked it out, the draught it created was quite unpleasant. The bathroom was poorly appointed: no shelf to put your things on and a filthy stained toilet seat! The room just didn't feel very clean. The pictures on this website are completely misleading and feel like a scam - they must have been taken years ago or heavily edited, because the actual condition of the property is nowhere near what’s shown online. Also, the fire alarm went off on two different mornings around 10am and lasted for about 10-20 minutes each time. When I went to the lobby, the receptionist told me that it wasn’t due to a fire but because of construction work somewhere in the hotel that was triggering the alarm. The staff didn’t bother to cover or disable the alarms properly. It was extremely loud and disruptive, and they didn’t do anything about it until it happened again the next day. Overall, the experience was very disappointing. For the price we paid, I expected at least basic cleanliness and comfort. Room noisy due to huge air con unit outside. Bed far too soft, room tatty. First room they gave me already had a male occupant; not ideal for a solo female traveler. They gave me a glass of wine whilst they sorted new room and took my bags up but I then overheard the duty manager complaining at the staff for giving me a free glass of wine.
