Charming cottage on the River Edge!

  • This cottage is tucked away just steps away from the West Carson River and is nestled on 1 1/2 acres with views of the surrounding mountains, pine and aspen trees. Perfect place for couples or a family. Enjoy a relaxing get away from the hustle and bustle of city life any time of the year.

    Location: The cottage is located off highway 88/89. Located 4 hours from San Francisco Bay Area, 2 hours from the Sacramento Valley, 30 minutes from South Lake Tahoe, 20 minutes from Kirkwood Ski Resort, 10 minutes from Markleeville, 15 minutes from Grover's Hot Springs State Park, 30 minutes from Sierra-at-Tahoe, 25 minutes from Adventure Mountain Lake Tahoe and 30 minutes from Carson City.

    Cottage features: a downstairs bedroom with a king size bed, an upstairs loft with two single beds, a bathroom with a shower, a gas log fireplace, a kitchenette, a full size refrigerator, a flat screen TV over the fireplace with YouTube TV and Wi-Fi.

    Activities in the area are endless: Enjoy the beautiful Hope Valley any time of the year. River fishing is only steps away. Explore the 1.5 acres, right outside your door, where you can enjoy sledding on your own personal hill (situated behind the house across the meadow) and many nearby hiking trails. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are minutes away. You are close to the towns of Woodfords, Minden, Gardnerville and Markleeville. You can head into South Lake Tahoe to try your luck with gambling or to Kirkwood Ski Resort for skiing/snowboarding. You can try out the natural hot springs at the nearby Grover Hot Springs State Park or just relax and unwind with family and friends.

We love this place and hope to return again soon. Great location for hiking. Cottage has all the amenities needed for a pleasant get-a-way.

A peaceful, well done cottage.

We stayed for two nights and loved it. From the beautiful river and babbling brook to the fun loft and great beds, we loved every part. We will be coming back.

Perfect family get away

Thos was our second time staying at this property and we had a wonderful stay. It is close enough to the ski resorts, restaurants and casinos while providing a peaceful and quiet place to stay. The property is gorgeous with the rushing creek and hiking options.

Wonderful

Our cottage stay was wonderful. It is well appointed, peaceful, very comfortable. It is private and surrounded by nature-- trees, including Aspens, mountains, birds, a river, and the starts at night are brilliant. We needed a relaxing retreat to recharge and were so glad to be at this place.

Great Cottage

My wife and I with our two kids needed a quick getaway and this was just perfect. It's a newer, well-appointed cottage, next to a larger main house. The creek is 20 yards off the back door. It's really a great place to stay while exploring Alpine County.

Mike was so gracious, accommodating and a pleasure to meet! The cottage provided everything we needed and the location was perfect! Loved the sounds of the roaring river from the backyard! We will be back!

Perfect serenity

This cottage is wonderful. Very well appointed with lots of charging stations, luxurious furniture and upgraded decor. However you walk outside and you’re in the trees with the sounds of nature and running water. Perfect combination of comfort and serenity

Great place to get away from it all!

This was perfect for our family stay. We spent an entire morning roaming around the river bed behind the cottage, and were thrilled to find so many games in the loft. There’s a hot plate, toaster oven, microwave, and crock pot to satisfy most light cooking needs. The fireplace heater was more than adequate to keep the house warm during nights in the 40s.

Tucked Away Treasure

This property is all and more than is described. It was a delight to sit on any side of the cottage and enjoy the sublime views. The owners are taking great care of the natural landscape. The cottage kitchen amenities were clean and classy and the linens and towels were luxurious. We hope to make this a regular trip.

Wonderful little cottage in the most spectacular setting. It was well appointed, felt/looked very clean, and we had everything we needed. The kitchen has no stove, but they detail that in the description so we came prepared with food that was easy to make on a hot plate so that was totally fine. There’s lots of big windows to throw open and the evening breeze is lovely. The bed is comfortable and the linens felt great! As an FYI, be prepared to have very little connectivity as the wifi is pretty spotty. Not surprising in this location though, I think they do the best they can with it. At one point I had to reset the modem, and the owner was available by phone immediately to talk me through how to find it. Really nice guy. Thank you for a fabulous 3 days!

Comfortable Mountain Cottage

Great location for the Death Ride to ride to/from the start/finish. It was great to have a comfortable cottage to stay in before and after such a long ride. This is probably one of the most well equipped cottage I’ve ever stayed in. Although the home doesn’t have AC, it was a non issue with the cool breeze & multiple fans provided by the owner. Mike was great and responsive with his communication. I would definitely stay here again!!

Perfect little cabin !

We had such a nice time at Mike's cabin. It is actually even nicer than it looks in the pictures! Super clean and has lots of amenities and nice touches, like extra towels and games to play. Our 5 year old was obsessed with the little stream just behind the property and loved "his" room (the loft.) The kitchenette was great, it doesn't have a stove but we didn't really need one. It's nice to have a big fridge as we brought food with us.
