On arrival we were asked to pay over 400 dirhams for the city tax despite it is advertised at 30 dirahms per person per night and should have been 300 for our stay. I argued this and eventually paid just over 300\. The breakfast was just ok, on the last day it was just bread. Other Riads we stayed at during our trip that we paid less for provided fruit and yoghurt and eggs everyday. I asked for our room not to be cleaned but they did it anyway leaving the door unlocked every time. On the last day I wanted to settle my bill as we were leaving early the next day. I was told I had to pay cash even thought it clearly indicates on the Expedia information that they accept all major credit cards. When I asked about this they told me their machine was not working. This meant I had to make two cash withdrawals costing me fees each time. They also charged me 200 dirhams more than the Expedia rate I had booked at. While the women at the front desk and service staff were polite and accommodating. But one male staff member was extremely rude and dishonest. He overcharged us beyond the Expedia quoted price and was overly pushy in trying to sell tours and recommend restaurants. The rooms were decent but came with several issues, including bathroom doors that wouldn’t lock and a lack of hot water at night. La chambre était spacieuse et agréable. L'intérieur du riad est vraiment très beau, la piscine à l'étage est légèrement petite mais très agréable également (avec de l'ombre). Le petit déjeuner est servi à table entre 8h et 10h dans une salle climatisée. Il y est également possible de manger le midi et le soir sur demande (réservation la veille), par personne il faut compter 15€ pour le déjeuner et 19€ pour le dîner (plus cher que les restaurants de la Médina). Il y a également un petit espace pour les massages, qui sont proposés à des prix abordable (entre 20€ et 40€) mais nous n'avons pas testé. Le riad se trouve directement au pied du Palais el Badiî, avec une façade commune à la muraille. Les alentours du riad sont typiques de la Médina. Good location. Great service. Pool and rooftop area very nice. It is down a back street which can make you feel slightly apprehensive but so are most Riads and it is safe. I think the one thing I would like the staff to do is improve their communication. They didn’t tell us about city tax until last day- you can only pay in euros or dirham CASH and not card. Luckily we scraped enough together but if we couldn’t then it wouldn’t have been good. Also we asked for our boarding passes printed which they agreed but only when printed they said it was 20 dirham. The last thing was they never told us there was a 12pm curfew. They let us in at 2am but we would’ve rather not been an inconvenience to them. Rooms were ok a little dirty to be honest. There was no option to not asked for the room cleaned every day and had to leave key at reception whenever you leave riad. The Riad is in a great location, close to all the sites. The Riad is also off a main road and easy to find. Not in a maze lol. There is a sqaure 2 mis walk where you can get a taxi. Lots of shops and food nearby. Would definitely stay here again. Important landmarks of Marrakech are walkable. - Helpful staff.
