Riverside Retreat of Mavillette

  • Take it easy at this tranquil riverside getaway. Although it is attached to the main house it is a self contained, open concept unit. Relax on the back deck to watch the birds and look for deer. Two sit on kayaks are available to use and there is a great fire pit for enjoying quiet evenings under the stars. 1km to Nova Scotia famous Mavillette beach. The river in the back yard is great for swimming and leads right through the wetlands to the Ocean. Equipped with a mini fridge, hot plate, microwave/convection oven, toaster and bbq and all kitchen essentials.

Beautiful and cozy little apartment close to Mavillette beach. Hosts even remembered us from last year and addressed a few recommendations we had shared at that time. Extra perks were the fresh vegetables, herbs, and access to the clothesline!

Great location - close to the beach (2 min drive) and to near by towns for shopping and food. Kayaks was a nice touch! The place was clean and well stocked. Unfortunately, we did notice an odour throughout the stay. We found that by opening windows, running the fan and using a candle, we were able to reduce it.

Simple and cozy, everything we needed. The pocket door was kinda stiff and hard to open and close, but everything else was just perfect. Would definitely come back :)

Lee went beyond expectation and was very accommodating. Also parked(backed up) the cars with the trailers for us. The unit itself has all you need, and there is a nice hot shower.

This was a perfect end to our trip in Nova Scotia. Lovely place, exactly as described. Loved using the kayaks for a relaxing evening paddle.

Wonderful accommodation, Hosts were truly "super". Lovely and private views. Quiet. A very nice stay.

The backyard and path to the river were nice, very picturesque. The riverside dock is a wonderful spot to sit and relax, have your morning coffee or sip a drink in the evening. Lots of space in the apartment for four people. Kitchen was well stocked, the coffee was good.

We loved our stay here! Beautiful big back yard with trail going back to the water! Great space for our dogs! Our space was cozy, clean and well equipped with everything we needed! Definitely recommend and will be back!

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay. Lee was so kind, helpful, and easy to communicate with. He made us feel very welcome with our big dog and not at all a bother. The accommodation is well cared for and had everything we needed. Super close to a beautiful beach. And to top it off we were able to enjoy the kayaks that Lee offered. I would highly recommend.

Best vacation trip

Lee and Kat were absolutely amazing hosts and they property was so beautiful in such a good spot for going to the beach and such a beautiful river in the back. It was an absolute pleasure being able to stay there for a week. Thank you very much.
