Beautiful 2bdrm Waterfront Cottage on Bogue Sound.

"The Cottage" on Bogue Sound is the perfect getaway for those who want privacy, but lots to do within a few minutes drive. Atlantic Beach, Morehead City Waterfront or Emerald Isle are only 15 to 20 minutes away. You will enjoy the prettiest and cleanest beaches the east coast has to offer.
If you just need to relax and recharge, the view of Bogue Sound is amazing. Lots of activity on the water. Fish jumping, Herons hunting for food and shrimp boats working their nets are all everyday attractions. In the fall the sunsets are breathtaking! You may even want to try your hand at clamming right out of the front door! While you are in this area you should explore Fort Macon, Cape Lookout and the Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. The village of Ocracoke is just a ferry ride away!
Binoculars are provided to bring wild life and other attractions "up close". Sail boats make a parade south in the fall to escape the winter chill. It is so interesting to see what state or country they are from. Hope to see you soon!

Nice Water Views, Quiet Location
Great stay with friends. Was nice to get away from work and busy city life. The location was quiet and we enjoyed the water views from the kitchen and living room windows. We enjoyed sitting in chairs overlooking the bay. Everything was clean inside. The host provided plenty of towels, coffee supplies, and even bottled water. The host also communicated well. The waterfront is full of clams and is not suitable for swimming or walking, but Fort Macon public beach access was fairly close and we drove over there to walk on the sand and soak our feet. Few more things to note: there were huge bumblebees right at the front door entrance trying to make a nest the entire stay and it was difficult to get in and out, especially since one of us is allergic to bee/wasp stings. We understood that it was the season for that and it’s part of nature, but would recommend hanging some type of trap for them. There was also no cooking knives to prepare our food, only butter knives, unless we just couldn’t find them but we searched everywhere. We ended up buying a knife in a local store but that wasn’t a big deal. Overall, we had a great stay and still gave the place five stars. Would definitely stay again.

My 65 birthday get away
Everything was perfect. Very clean. Our Host thought of everything. We didn't cook much but I found the kitchen was well equipped. The location was very quiet. We would highly recommend this cute place.

We enjoyed 'the cottage' secluded back the lane on Bogue Sound. It was clean and we had everything we needed. It was our first experience in the area and also our first experience using a vacation rental-it was a great experience! The host very quickly mailed us some items we had left behind which only made the experience better / above and beyond!

Peaceful waterfront
This is a beautiful cottage, inside and out! The view of the sound is so pretty. We enjoyed sitting in the adirondack chairs and watching the boats, birds, and jumping fish. We also had a nice swim and collected lots of shells. The house was super clean and stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The area is very private and quiet with easy access to the main road. We would definitely stay there again!!

Beautiful, relaxing stay
This was my second stay here. This time it was just two of us, my sister and I. It was the perfect place to just relax and make quick trips to Swansboro and Beaufort. It's so quiet and peaceful, with beautiful views in the main area. The cottage is supplied with everything you need, was very neat and clean, and I especially enjoyed the comfortable bed.

Perfect little cozy cottage right on the Intracoastal, minutes from Emerald Isle & Swansboro. Pics don’t do it justice. Spotless & well stocked kitchen. Comfy furniture & mattresses, and views for days. We swam off the little platform - shallow calm waters great for kiddos (just wear water shoes). Quiet neighborhood. Martha is the best hostess. Can’t wait to return!

Charming cottage
We enjoyed our stay at The Cottage. It's so cute, and had most everything we needed. Our host was easily available to pleasantly message us through a minor issue with returning the key to the lock box after arriving. We easily found a grocery store nearby, and prepared most of our meals in the kitchen. We had brought coffee pods with us, but found the Keurig wasn't working. The drip pot was fine once we purchased ground coffee. The small size of The Cottage was perfect for us, and the location on the sound was gorgeous. We enjoyed watching the waves when we arrived, as well as the smooth surface when we prepared to leave. My daughter and grandson explored the species and shells found when the water was low. We also enjoyed the nearby aquarium when heavy rain kept us inside. We highly recommend The Cottage and hope to visit again someday.

It was a fantastic little property. A little out of the way, about 15 minutes from Morehead City and 25ish from Sawnsboro. I wouldn't hesitate to book this again, it was quiet and has lovely views of the sunrise/set on the sound.
