“The cottage is comfortable and well equipped and has a delightful secluded back garden. It is located in a beautiful part of rural Crete with magnificent views of the White Mountains. We particularly enjoyed doing the many local walks. Booklets and maps were provided in the cottage and made following the trails very easy. There are many bars and restaurants in nearby villages which provide very affordable and delicious food and a very warm welcome. Not to be missed is a visit to nearby Vamos……

The owner, Peter, was incredibly helpful and attentive in every way, and even treated us to a real Cretan dinner the last night of our stay. We laughed so much that evening! We went horseback riding at Deres stables outside Chania, we visited Knossos and Heraklion, we spent a day at the Botanical Gardens, and a day at the Old Venetian port in Chania. “Wir haben die Zeit in Marias Haus sehr genossen. Ein perfekt ausgestattetes, gepflegtes, sauberes Haus, in dem es an nichts fehlt. Die zwei Terassen und die Außendusche runden den Wohlfühlfaktor komplett ab. Wer himmlische Ruhe sucht und trotzdem nicht gänzlich von der Zivilisation abgeschnitten sein möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Das Dorf in schönster Berglage besticht durch sein angenehmes Klima. Es geht immer ein leichter (manchmal auch stärkerer) Wind, der selbst heiße Tage erträglich……

“On recommande vivement cette maison pour passer un agréable et authentique séjour en Crète.Manos, le propriétaire, nous a fait un super accueil avec des produits locaux et un livret qui regroupe plusieurs endroits très beaux pour découvrir l'île.Concernant la maison, le point fort est l'extérieur avec la piscine entourée de plantes et d'arbres (citronnier et palmier) ainsi qu'un très bel olivier. Cet environnement donne beaucoup de charme à la maison.Et petit plus, il y a des chats qui se……

“We had a lovely stay at this quiet and peaceful traditional house. It was ideally located for us to explore Crete further, and very close to walk to the beach, which was an added bonus. The house is very well stocked with everything you could possibly need, and the Owners were very kind, helpful and hospitable. It would be ideal for a couple who want peace and space, and also a small family. We shall return.”

“We stayed here for 11 nights in June and it was fabulous. We were greeted with a homemade moussaka which was a nice surprise. The property is spacious and the roof terraces (3 of them) were fantastic. The beach is just a pleasant 5 minutes walk (and there's a bar on the way). The owners were friendly and very helpful.”
