“We stayed at The Goatshed during the off season. Lots of rain ( even a "named" storm ) during our stay, and still it was absolutely magical. Everything we hoped it would be ! The villages in the area had lovely tavernas and incredible bakeries as well as grocery stores well stocked with everything you need. I spent a morning sipping coffee and listening to a Greek Orthodox memorial service being chanted nearby, another morning we watched the neighbors harvesting olive trees. The Goatshed itself……

“I had a wonderful stay in Ikaria. The house is very cozy and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. You do need to adapt a little, as it’s a simple place with a few quirks, but that’s part of its charm — and the price is absolutely fair for what it offers.What really made my stay unforgettable was Evangelos and the local community. “We stayed for three weeks in this lovely house in Makriotika and had a wonderful time. The house is well equipped and has a beautiful terrace with views of the mountains and, in the distance, Agia Efimia and the sea. Having breakfast under the old olive tree was a highlight, and the small courtyard with its bougainvillea is another great place to relax.Sophia, our host, was extremely kind and helpful.
