3BR, 3.5BA log cabin

Tucked away deep in the woods on 6 secluded acres of lush forest, perched on a beautiful stocked pond sits Drift Away Log Cabin. Upon entering the gated, long, winding driveway, you will quickly notice the unbelievable craftsmanship, elegance, and rustic charm of this unique 3000+ sq foot, Canadian Pioneer Log Home. Drift Away Log Cabin features three master bedroom suites, three and half bathrooms, oversized loft with a sleeping and family area, giant game/media room, and will easily accommodate 6 guests.

Enjoy the warmth of the main level living area with its mesmerizing gas fireplace accented by the beauty of the whole pine logs throughout. The living room is cozy, warm and inviting and opens to the spacious country kitchen filled with hickory cabinets and stainless steal appliances. Enjoy preparing family meals and gathering around the center breakfast nook or handcrafted farm table. Just off the dining area is a 40-foot back deck with an outdoor dining table and two outdoor chaise loungers. Also, a wood picnic table is very close to the campfire pit for the convenience of eating roasted hot dogs, bratwursts, and s’mores.

The expansive loft , surrounded by oversized windows and a unique third story deck, offers a calming and comfortable sitting area with a 50-inch HD TV. You will also find a quaint loft bedroom with an elegant queen size bed.

Take a trip to the walk out media and game room. Choose from board games, bumper pool, poker, roulette, black jack, checkers on the whiskey barrel table, or take your shot at a game of pool. The media area offers a 55-inch flat screen TV, surround sound and Play Station 3 (bring your own games & controllers). Be sure to take a seat in the deep tissue massage chair. It will work any stress away.

There are 3 master suites to choose from: Drift Away Master Suite with private bathroom, claw foot tub and separate shower, Big Moose Master Suite with private full bathroom, and Beary Sleepy Massive Den. All sleeping rooms (including the Loft sleeping area) are furnished with pillow top mattresses. Drifting off to sleep will never be so easy.

Enjoy your morning coffee on the 40-foot log front porch. Watch for the dancing hummingbirds, listen for the woodpeckers, and enjoy the variety of birds singing. Consider having breakfast on the second story deck, deer and turkeys tend to frequent the property during the early morning hours. Spend your days playing corn hole, bocce ball, cooking out, rocking on the porch chairs, swinging down by the pond or go fishing. *Pet owners please watch your pond loving pet. Please do not allow them WET in the house or on the furniture. Maybe you will catch a bass, catfish, or blue gill. Catch and release fishing. Don’t let the goldfish or Koi fool you. There is plenty of gamefish swimming in the pond. The small and large mouth bass enjoy snacking on goldfish, baby blue gill, and baby koi.

As dusk breaks, unwind around the crackling campfire pit or soak in your own private bubbling hot tub. The stone patio complete with comfortable outdoor furniture is the perfect place to relax into the many sounds of nature, from the animals wrestling around in the forest to the owls, tree frogs, and crickets singing their songs. Complete seclusion. Complete tranquility. Waling trail around the lake. Come and stay for a while, you are sure to drift away.

Relaxing
A very comfortable, relaxing property to stay at. We were here for our Grandson’s IU graduation and enjoyed the solitude.

Poorly maintained and dirty
This property had so many problems. The main level toilet leaked into the lower level bathroom. The lower bathroom had mold growing in the ceiling and on the walls, indicating this was not the first time the toilet from the upper bathroom leaked into it. We called the office and they sent someone out to look at it, who showed up not wearing a mask (December 2020) and wasn't able to fix the problem, so we just had to avoid using that bathroom during our stay. The hot tub was 108 degrees, which is dangerously hot, and we had no means of turning the temperature down. The office was not able to resolving the over-heated hot tub during our stay. The DVD player didn't have a remote, and the PS3 controller didn't work. I would not recommend this property to anyone.

Wonderful Stay
The cabin & yard were beautiful & we had a great time! The only suggestion I would make (and this is NOT a complaint), is to change out the barstools. They are definitely too tall for the breakfast bar. 😄
