“Lovely peaceful setting on the river, quiet country setting. Access to surrounding towns was easy and I appreciated the list of businesses you provided. The views from the balconies were great as well. Managing the stairs with luggage was a bit challenging. Would be nice if owners could build out a bit of a landing zone at door height for luggage to sit on while you open the door. That was such a tiny part of the visit, it wouldn’t prevent me from staying again though. Overall I enjoyed the...

“This was our second stay. The cabin is great. Clean and comfortable. It is an ideal location for a base camp to hike many sections of the AT. We use Boots Off Hostel less than a mile down the road to shuttle us to and from various trail heads.The host is very quick to answer questions. The outside porches are wonderful for relaxing. Watauga lake is just down the road and there are several attractions near by if you want to do other activities. ”

“We needed somewhere to unwind that we could also take our three fur babies. Couldn't have asked for a better escape! The sunrises, the sunsets, The horses right out the window. Just enough modern convenience blended in to an 1880's escape. Our fur babies loved the walks of the gravel driveway every morning and night. The horses would come over to greet us. Cuddling up to a warm fire was just the perfect touch to end each day. We plan to come back!”

“I rented this for my elderly uncle to stay in for our wedding weekend. He loved everything about it and felt very comfortable. He said one of the mornings he was sitting on the porch drinking his coffee, when a baby owl landed near him and stayed there for a long while! ”

“Our family stayed two nights while visiting Bristol for the NHRA races and found the location peaceful and quiet. It had everything we needed, but we ate out for our meals. The property does have WiFi and streaming services which was nice. The deck and screened in porch is lovely as well. The house is older but well maintained. ”

The folding camp chairs are a nice touch and we relaxed in them every evening. Thank you for a wonderful stay that my son will remember for years to come! ”
