"Carl and Elma were fantastic hosts ... again, having stayed here in same room 3 years earlier. The three rooms on street level where you park with a common lobby room, with a day room for those who need to stow stuff on a checkout day, There is a great breakfast and coffee on the upper floor large balcony overlooking a naturalized area with wild pigs, cows, chickens, tree frogs, birds, and a wonderful view of the ocean. It is a unique place to stay in Hawaii and in an area that we find most interesting near the snorkeling sites and restaurants of Captain Cook. Good value."

"We stayed Jan19-23 2026\. This is not your typical VRBO. This new beach house is luxurious, even posh! Wonderful deck with lots of comfortable furniture and great ocean views. It has a double bed and 2 twins in the middle. Master bedroom with its own bath is separate, only accessible from the deck, in the back. 2 great outdoor showers. 2.5 baths. Amazing decks, with great views. Bedroom AC worked great. Huge fancy kitchen, dining, living space. We cooked dinner in twice, and the kitchen and BBQ worked perfectly. Everything in the house is new and in spotless condition. It’s across a very quiet street from the beach, so technically not ocean front—but again, great ocean views from the deck. There’s a house SW that’s barely visible, a small parking lot for Pebbles Beach across the street, another house to the NW, so you have a view from all the way south, to straight west, from the decks (and inside). To the south is a huge lava field and forest as far as the eye can see, so it’s comfortable taking a shower outside, as they face south. Road down is crazy steep! Our small Ford SUV rental struggled with just 2 of us! If you have a carload, consider renting something big, like a Suburban. Pebbles Beach, right across from the VRBO, is very dangerous; people do swim and snorkel there, but I strongly recommend against it. Owner Gregg was a great host—very helpful and communicative. If you’re looking for quiet, extremely nice, off the beaten path, this is an amazing place."

"The yurts were well appointed with everything needed to enjoy a stay. (Coffee, cream, condiments, shampoo, conditioner, towels, kitchen appliances, potable water crock, linens, beach towels, etc) It was perfect for us with our kids. We enjoyed 2 nights and got to really check out all south point has to offer.The bathrooms are at the back of the deck that connects the yurts, they had two toilets, two sinks, and a shower. Great space, it is separate from the yurts but they provide flashlights.They have a ton of board games, a kids play area, tanning chairs, big TVs, a blackstone grill, and everything you need to eat a meal there. Two nights was perfect, you could easily stay more and be very happy. We like moving around places to stay on the island to see and experience more things! We were really happy we spent time here.Green sands beach, kula kai caverns, punalu’u bakery, big dogs…great things to check out! Thanks again John and Dianne for your hospitality. "
