"We loved everything about this stay: the welcoming, cheerful staff, the comfortable boutique room and the fabulous breakfast that had a great choice of pastries, juices, cereals, yogurts and a wide choice for a cooked breakfast. All dietary needs were met. We would definitely stay again, but next time choose one of the rooms with a king size bed rather than a double."

"When you consider that the hotel started its life as a coaching house in the 1840s it is nigh on 200 years old! It is quirky and still has the feel of buildings that were designed at the time - it has great character, is very comfortable and ideally situated in the city centre. The management clearly take a lot of pride in the hotel. Great place. "

"We stayed at the Royal Leanardo prior to our cruise disembarking from Southampton. The hotel is within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. We found all the staff friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and our bed was comfortable. We would recommend a stay here for anyone prior to a cruise. The concierge arranged taxi reservations and the coordination of transportation to the cruise terminal for the guests. This was helpful."
