"We had an amazing time everything from the transfers to and from the airport to the hotel, to the hotel itself just couldn’t fault anything. The staff couldn’t do enough for you and they were so friendly. This was the first time going all inclusive we couldn’t have chosen a better place the food was so nice and so much choice. The hotel was very clean and tidy the grounds were well maintained. We will be staying here again in the future."

"Dieses Haus ist wirklich außergewöhnlich und nahezu einmalig - Angefangen von der Historie, weiterführend über die Ausstattung und den Umbau des Ruinendorfes, bis hin zu den Gastgebern, die sich unfassbar herzlich um ihre Gäste bemühen. Wir reisen wirklich sehr viel und ich habe selten so eine Gastfreundschaft erlebt, während man gleichermaßen entspannt die Ruhe genießen konnte. "The property was very clean and well maintained. All of the staff were extremely friendly. Overall the food was very good. Not at all the properties fault but it rained 2 of the 4 days we stayed at this resort. A lot of this resorts amenities (ping pong, full size chess) and even some of the a la carte restaurants do not operate when it's raining. And with everyone needing to be inside, the common area's felt a bit cramped."

Nobody at reception when we arrived and room not ready so we had to busy ourselves elsewhere for a few hours. Thought we were paying by card on line but seemingly not - ended up paying in cash at the owners request. Overall - room really nice; service not bad but not great."

Grecotel LUX ME White

10/10 Excellent

"I had the immense pleasure of staying at Grecotel Lux*Me White for one week in mid-October, sharing a double room with two single beds with my 14-year-old son. To say this was quite possibly the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in would be an understatement. Amazing staff, a great location just 15 minutes from Rethymno, and a complimentary daily shuttle bus departing the hotel at 11 am and returning to pick you up at 3 pm. What more could you ask for? The hotel amenities are exceptional, from breakfast, lunch and dinner to drinks and snacks throughout the day. The staff are absolutely brilliant and spare no effort in making their guests’ stays truly memorable. I had several jaw-dropping moments during our stay, too many to list, but one that really stood out was seeing a full-sized honeycomb served at breakfast. That alone should give you a small idea of the exceptional service and experience this hotel offers. Honestly, I cannot recommend it highly enough. The highlight of the trip for me was the evening spent at the hotel’s own organic farm. Utter luxury."

The Royal Senses Resort & Spa Crete, Curio Collection Hilton

10/10 Excellent

"A fantastic hotel with an outstanding team who truly go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The attention to detail is exceptional, and every aspect of the experience is thoughtfully taken care of. From arrival to checkout, the staff make every effort to ensure you have a memorable and enjoyable stay. Their genuine hospitality and commitment to guest satisfaction really set this property apart. Highly recommended!"

Nautilux Rethymno by Mage Hotels

8/10 Good

"Over all hotel is nice , Everyone working here was nice and kind . Anyhow for 5 star hotel shower enclosure is only 2 stars…. It is no door from living area to the bathroom,so it is crazy cold when you get out from the shower, and enclosure itself is ridiculously uncomfortable, Other thing -guests are allowed to smoke in a balcony,no separation between smoking and nonsmoking rooms,so you will smell disgusting cigarette smoke all day long… Also -5 star hotel does not have heated pool ,so October 12 th pool temperature was 15 degrees Celsius-that is absolutely ridiculous…please invest some money for your pool heating,so guests, who paid for 5 star hotel can enjoy it …"

Grecotel Plaza Beach House

10/10 Excellent

"We booked a room at the last minute. There will a little mix up upon arrival but the hotel upgraded us and bought us dinner to compensate us. Honestly, there was no need. The hotel was fabulous and the staff could not have been friendlier. The beach area was perfect and exactly what we wanted during our time in Greece. Rethymno is a lovely town and not nearly as busy as Chania, which made a huge difference. We would definitely go back to this hotel."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Perama?

For a relaxing and convenient stay in Perama, the best area to stay is along the coastal stretch of Agia Pelagia.

Agia Pelagia is a well-developed resort village known for its beautiful, sheltered bay and clear waters. The main street runs parallel to the beach, lined with tavernas, cafes, and shops. Many accommodations offer direct access to the beach or are just a short walk away. The village is compact and easy to navigate on foot.

Couples will find Agia Pelagia particularly appealing due to its romantic beachfront dining options and the opportunity for leisurely strolls along the shore. The calm waters are superb for swimming and snorkeling, and many hotels offer amenities like private balconies with sea views.

For families, Agia Pelagia is an excellent choice because of its shallow, calm bay, which is ideal for children. Many hotels cater to families with spacious rooms, swimming pools, and easy access to the beach for building sandcastles or gentle swimming.

When is the best time to go to Perama?

The best time to go to Perama is during the shoulder seasons of April to May and September to October. These months offer pleasant weather, ideal for exploring the region without the intense heat and larger crowds of mid-summer.

For travelers seeking comfortable temperatures for sightseeing and outdoor activities, April and May are excellent. The landscape is lush from spring rains, and the average daily temperatures range from 18-24°C (64-75°F). You'll find most attractions, restaurants, and shops open, but without the peak season bustle.

Similarly, September and October provide a wonderful experience. The sea is still warm enough for swimming, and the weather remains consistently sunny with average daily temperatures around 20-26°C (68-79°F).
