We decided to try their Christmas menu, expecting a festive and indulgent meal. Instead, we were served ridiculously small portions that wouldn’t even satisfy a child. For the price we paid, it was outright robbery—nothing special, nothing memorable, just an overpriced, underwhelming excuse for a holiday dinner. As if the dining experience wasn’t bad enough, the rooms were disgusting—dirty floors, and an overall feeling of neglect that made it hard to believe this place claims to be a luxury resort. The cleanliness standards were unacceptable, making it clear that management prioritizes aesthetics over actual hospitality. And speaking of aesthetics, the forced French influence throughout the resort is completely misplaced. This is Thailand, and guests come here to experience authentic Thai culture, design, and hospitality—not some out-of-place European concept that feels forced and completely disconnected from the location. The owner needs to read the room (literally) and embrace the beauty of Thai heritage instead of imposing an unnecessary theme that no one asked for. Save yourself the money and frustration—there are far better resorts in Phuket that actually deliver on their promises. Kata Rocks is all hype and no substance.
