The landfill, which is less than 1 mile away can produce a strong odor at times. This is a random occurrence that is dependent mainly on weather and winds. We are at the property often and it generally occurs Monday mornings and some mornings more so than evenings as well as after rains in the heat and humidity. More often than not it's not a huge issue but there are times it can be quite strong, on these days it affects most of Pigeon Forge including Dollywood and the strip. You will never have an issue inside the studios. It is extremely rare to have this occur at night or weekends. The convenience of the cabin outweighs the rain and potential for this odor.
We welcome your comments and suggestions. We want you to have a 5 star review experience.

We only stayed one night, but the room was cute! It had everything we needed and then some. The bed was comfortable, and we loved the electric fireplace.
A quick getaway for my wife’s birthday. The apartment was very convenient to everything and it was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much.
We were very happy with our stay at ‘14 on the Ridge’! We spent the entire day at Dollywood, so we were late coming in our first night but getting into our room was a breeze. The location was quiet, away from the hustle of the strip but close enough to be convenient to everything! The room was clean and perfect size for me and my hubby. Will definitely stay here again!
Studio was perfect for me and my boyfriend. Room was clean and comfortable. Property is very convenient to Pigeon Forge. There is a landfill nearby but didn’t notice any smells. I definitely recommend and will use this property again.
In all honesty, we chose. this location due to affordability. However, it well exceeded our expectations. It is in the perfect location- less than a 10 minute drive to anything in Pigeon Forge. Additionally, the host was so kind, helpful, and responsive. Having onsite laundry was also a great amenity. We will definitely be returning!
We LOVED our rental!! So cozy, and peaceful! The room was very clean, and super cute. We will definitely be back!! It’s a hidden gem for sure. The only thing I wasn’t a huge fan of is the landfill is pretty close to the property, for the most part you can’t smell it. One evening it was windy and the smell was more noticeable but not terribly.
My partner and I were looking for a quiet place to stay and we found just that staying here. Upon entering, the apartment was clean and instructions were clear about what was expected. The apartment was close to all tourist attractions and food which made it super easy to leave and get back quick, if needed. My partner and I felt safe in this location. Our host was also very kind and helpful. To add on, this was my first experience using Vrbo and booking this place did not disappoint. I’d definitely stay again.
Only minutes from town, this property feels like you are deep in the heart of the woods. The space is just big enough for one or two people. The bed was comfortable and the crackling fire feature on the wall opposite the bed adds a cozy feel to the room. It was very quiet. Would definitely stay here again.
Cute, clean, excellent location to LeConte and downtown, BUT the trash compost works keeps you inside.
There is no microwave but there is a toaster oven. Bed was comfy, shower was fantastic at the end of a hot day.
The other guests at this location were all very friendly, too.
overall the room was okay, it was as listed but a little small for my taste. my girlfriend is semi handicapped and the bathroom was difficult for her to get into. the location was very quiet
Property was quaint neat and tidy. Quiet.
Found as pictured.
Floors swept.
Appeared clean until wiping up water & floor was very dirty, Evidently had not been mopped in a while & with the color of floor is not noticeable.

Thanksgiving stay
The room was clean and nice but the location was horrible. The smell was bad when outside but when inside it was nice and clean. The only problem was the smell . My wife’s main issue was the frying pan in the kitchen everything stuck to it so after a trip to Walmart for her a different pan she seemed better.
Very close to all the attractions but yet in a country setting. Very quite in this area. The studio was very clean and offered what you need. The only problem I had was the the step up into the bathroom. No big problem if you don’t have physical problems, might be a big problem if you have hip or back problems. Suggest the photos be revised to show the step. Loved the self check in and out.
My wife and I stayed here for a weekend. It's in a great location, close to everything but out of the way of traffic. The landfill didn't bother us much since we didn't sit outside. The room looks as described other than the bedding. The communication was ok for check in. We were unhappy about the cleanliness of the room. The bedding was dirty and had an odor to it. We went to purchase additional clean linen. If you like a firm bed then you will be ok. If not be prepared we were sore after this visit. There is a mildew odor in the room. Air freshener didn't seem to kick it. There was lots of hair on the floor and in the bed.Not sure if they really clean it as we were instructed to leave bedding on. Seems like they just make the bed and keep it moving. All in all you get what you pay for. A basic motel studio room.
It was a lovely location in my opinion. General quite, we enjoyed siting on the porch and in the communal area just listening to nature. We stayed for 4 nights. The bed was comfy and te little kitchenette was just perfect for a short stay! Oh and the view, while not grand, was still such a nice change from whet we have at home! I really only had two complaints.
1. The bathroom is raised about 6in up. We were a bit sore from our vaction activities and almost stumbled a few times when getting up to go to the restroom at night. Not a deal breaker for me though, my traveling partner though would say it might be lol
2. If you are sensitive to smells of woods it might not before you. If i didn't have allergy issues i dont think it would be that big of an issue. Also they had air fresheners in the room that i would ask to be removed if we stay agian (i dont know why i didnt ask when we got there im sure the owners would have been happy to oblige. That is entirely on me!)
As for the foul smell of the landfill or compost site up the road. It wasnt constant but i could see how those with sent sensitivity might have an issue.
Overall i would stay again and just bring some allergy meds and ask for the air fresheners to be removed.
