"The location is on the edge of a quiet village and with only subtle sounds of frogs from the pond and whinnies from the horse it was bliss. This was our 2nd stay and would love to come back again. Transport is required to access local shops but the ride out is so lovely it isnt a worry. We stayed for the 80th anniversary of D-Day and found it a good base to stay for the events. "Very nice and convenient stopover hotel. It may feel slightly tired at first glance, but rooms are practical and clean. Bathroom is small but well designed for the space. Water pressure in the shower is adequate, Front-desk service is excellent and swift; we arrived late in the evening with several suitcases, and we were immediately offered a ground floor room instead of our originally assigned room on a higher floor to accommodate us (without us even asking) which was extremely thoughtful. There is a wide parking area at the front of the hotel (shared with a restaurant next door) and the hotel is close to Bernay town centre which has plenty of food outlets and retail shops. We have rarely seen this level of service for the price of the room and can only encourage other travellers to use it."
