“The pub itself is very old and in need of complete redecoration. The stairs, carpets, walls, paintwork leading up to the room was in a very poor state. Carpets need a good clean and decorating needs to be done. However, although the room was very basic and worn, the bed was comfortable, the bed linen clean and well laundered. “The room is fine, although the tv didn't work but we never remembered to tell the staff. breakfast was a disappointment as although the room suggests an orderable, made to order menu, it was buffet style each morning. still it was the best option in the area so would book again.”

“Lovely setting, great welcome, food superb, staff friendly and helpful
We had the suite (kingfisher) which was an excellent room except for a radiator being stuck on in the bathroom. The lady in charge (lovely lass) managed to get it sorted as the outside temp was up in the 30’s!!!
If I have any criticism of the room, a little use of bleach would have gone a long way but please don’t let that put you off. The place is very very good. This is our second time staying and it definitely won’t be……

“Absolutely lovely oasis of tranquility in the New Forest. We took our small dog and everything was catered for from bowls and towels in the room to a washing station and poo bags.
Staff were amazing, busy but always helpful and chatty. Food was top notch, as were the cocktails and a lovely breakfast.
Can’t fault it, oh and there was air con in the room……. Thank god!”
