The room I stayed in was comfortable and clean. the staff were helpful with quickly sorting out the issues I had with the room key not working. The hotel is in a great place as it's not a far walk to anywhere in the town.

Stayed for 1 night with work. Its a lovely old building with alot of character but the it is in need of a good update to all the corridors, stairs and other areas. The rooms have had an update and look nice though my bathroom did have a smell of stale water and as its in the town centre it was quick noisy to the point that around 5am the bin men woke me up emptying the bins with a loud bang. Personally I wouldnt stay again but can understand why some people would.

It was very quiet so peaceful . The staff were attentive . Just needed a little revamp with the painting . Couple of sash windows need attention - wood rotting. Good breakfast . Would stay again.

The “compact double” live up to its billing but the room was clean, tidy and well appointed. Location of The Rugby Hotel is fantastic with lots of amenities within walking distance. The only drawback for me was the record-breaking high temperatures during my stay and, of course, the hotel doesn’t offer air conditioning—or even a fan. My top floor room became a sauna and even opening windows provided zero relief. Otherwise, it was a great stay.
