Recently updated and refurbished, this tastefully decorated property benefits from a peaceful location, yet within walking distance of the harbour, beaches, golf club, and the village with it's many pubs, restaurants and shops. At Seahouses you are literally surrounded by stunning scenery and spoilt for choice for things to do and places to visit. The Farne Islands can be reached by regular boat trips from the harbour. The stunning Bamburgh castle and it's beautiful beach is only 3 mile away, and the historic market town of Alnwick, with it's majestic gardens and castle (used in many movies including Harry Potter), is only a short drive. The heritage coastline is dotted with more castles, beautiful beaches and fishing villages, as well as Holy Island. The Cheviot Hills and Northumberland National park are close by, as well as the border towns of Berwick and Coldstream. Newcastle and Edinburgh are also easily accessible. Seaside House is an ideal property to stay, with it's sleeping flexibility, 2 bathrooms upstairs and cloakroom downstairs. Changeover day is Saturday. Arrival time after 3pm. Departure time 10am. Due to Covid-19 we are undertaking extra cleaning and sanitizing at the property. We will continue to supply bedding to all beds required, but we now kindly request guests to strip all bedding at the end of their stay, and place into Wash Bags provided. We also continue to supply all towels, including t.towels. We do allow guests to bring their own bedding/towels if they wish ..but must communicate this to us, when they book or before arrival date. We are planning a refurbishment during this winter (2021). Can’t think of anything else we would need! It was an easy stroll to the harbour and the amenities of Seahouses along the coastal path - the sea is literally at the end of the road! A great location for exploring the area - so much to do that we didn’t fit it all in and we were there a week! Good excuse to go back. Communication with Russell was excellent right from the time of booking. He even took the trouble to send some information about birdwatching sites when I mentioned that was an interest of my husband! Thank you so much Russell! Exactly as expected from the info on the website. Would have liked an initial acknowledgement from the owner. The design of the dining table legs made it difficult for 3 adults to sit at without moving the sofa. Cleaning could be better - dust on doors, pictures and under the coffee table. Das Ferienhaus war sehr gut ausgestattet, wir haben nichts vermisst. Es befindet sich in einem ruhigen Wohnviertel unweit der Nordsee und hat sehr freundliche Nachbarn. Der Kontakt mit dem Eigentümer war unkompliziert, zu Beginn unseres Aufenthaltes bekamen wir sogar ein paar sehr nahrhafte Willkommensgeschenke. Seahouses ist ein Ferienort in dem hauptsächlich Briten Urlaub machen. Es liegt sehr verkehrsgünstig an der Nordseeküste von Northumberland. Von hier aus ist es nicht weit nach Edinburgh (rd. zweieinhalb Stunden Fahrt) oder nach Newcastle upon Tyne (rd. eineinhalb Stunden Fahrt). Aber auch in der näheren Umgebung befinden sich mit Alnwick oder Berwick-upon-Tweed interessante Orte, die man gut besuchen kann. Da wir Mitglied im National Trust sind, konnten wir diverse Orte wie Lindisfarne-Castle auf Holy Island (bei Flut eine Insel, bei Ebbe mit dem Auto erreichbar), Dunstanburgh-Castle bei Alnwick, Cragside oder Wallington, beide bei Morpeth kostenfrei besichtigen. Ein unbedingtes Muss ist ein Besuch des Bamburgh-Castle, welches allerdings nicht vom National Trust betrieben wird. Nice lounge with plenty of books, CD's and DVD's. Great location a short distance from the sea, shops and pubs. The property is in a great location, the facilities are great, it's short of nothing. Russel (owner) was easy to contact and Ray (maintenance) was pleasant and efficient. The only negative I found was the TV was rather dated with poor sound quality. My mother is hard of hearing and there was no option to add subtitles. I know that may sound picky but if there a bad weather day you need some entertainment in the property. Quiet location within a few minutes walk to the beach and into Seahouses. Russell was so helpful and answered any questions we had promptly. We were welcomed with some very generous welcome gifts! Lovely neighbours too who helped us locate the keybox on arrival. We really fell in love with the place can highly recommend. Short walk to rocky beach, but sandy beaches still within reach. Also a short walk into seahouses for shops and restaurants.
