For a property charging luxury rates, these are basics, not extras. Credit where it's due: a manager kindly moved me to a renovated room, which was a welcome gesture, and breakfast was decent enough. But one helpful staff member cannot make up for a hotel that seems indifferent to its guests. If you are considering the Grand Hyatt for a Seoul trip, I would strongly recommend the Four Seasons instead — comparable location in old Seoul, and they actually understand what service means." I had asked for a view of Namsam tower months earlier with no response and then asked again right before we arrived... I spent quite a bit on a twin suite so thought it could be considered, or at least communicated that it wasn't available - but nothing. I thought the hotel was amazing - good location, clean and we really liked our room but the communication was lacking so it hindered the experience. Also, I think as a Korean Canadian who is fluent in Korean, it's somewhat insulting to speak Korean to front desk staff and then be spoken to in English, as if my accent or level is not good enough - it's actually a bit insulting so that was another point that didn't make the experience very positive. I would consider coming back as the hotel itself is nice and well located, but I hope these items, however small they seem, can be improved.
