Quirky place with interesting rooms and friendly owner. Need to climb about 15 steps to get to our 2nd floor room. Easy parking and close to Joe's Diner for breakfast It would have been nice to have a muffin or Danish available so this is not a b&b , there is no breakfast. It's pricing is comparable to other Stratford properties in September, and if one is reasonably mobile, it is walking distance to downtown and the Avon Theatre, a bit more of a hike to the Festival Theatre. We would stay here again.

We discovered we misplaced the keys to the room when we came back to the room in the evening. The owners of the Inn where not in the building and did not answer their phone, voicemail or text. We were considering looking for another hotel but luckily found the keys after a couple of hours.

If you like the charm of the old fashioned look, this is for you. The bedroom we were in was nice however the bed was small. The bathroom is tiny and needs work. All the fixtures need updating. The good thing is it’s close enough to the downtown area theatres and restaurants. In conclusion, if you like the past you will love it, explore the rest of the areas in the building, they are lovely.

My husband and I spent one night for the first time at this Inn. We drove to Stratford to see a matinee at 2:00 pm at the Avon Theatre. This Inn is conveniently located and easy to find. We truly appreciate free parking at the property before check-in that starts at 4:00 pm. It was only about a 10-minute walk from the Inn to Avon Theatre. Shakespearean Gardens and Queen's Park are very close by. We visited them both. It was wonderful. Tim, the Innkeeper, was a pleasant fellow. He's both courteous and helpful/informative. This Inn is well maintained although some renovation or update would be even more delightful. The lamp attached to the ceiling fan doesn't work because the cord attached to it was broken. We found the broken cord/string in the drawer of the night table. Overall, we had a good time staying overnight there. Thanks, Tim.

This historic building has been a beautiful, grand home but, sadly, has allowed to become a little run down. Any work done in the last 20 years or so has been done cheaply and not executed well (peel and stick tiles, insufficient lighting, mixture of decor.) The common room used for morning coffee was beautiful and some of the rooms looked lovely but overall we left disappointed. The owner was friendly, the beds were comfortable but we’d probably stay elsewhere next time.

The Stone Maiden Inn is a unique place to stay when you are visiting Stratford. The rooms are beautifully decorated with antiques. It is well situated in Stratford as you are in walking distance to the Shakespearean Gardens and the town centre with a great variety of places to eat. We parked our car and enjoyed walking around. I did not give it full stars because the shower in our room was too cramped and our mattress was too soft which made it difficult to sleep.

Tastefully decorated well preserved historical property with unique charm and atmosphere. Super high ceilings, antique furiniture, beds with canopies, rooms with private bathrooms, coffee and tea all day long, fridge in the common area, everything needed for a pleasant stay. Quiet neighbourhood, walking distance to the city center, Shakespeare Gardens and river boardwalk. Very responsive and approachable hosts living in the same property. All in all, wonderful theatrical gateway. We plan to be back one day.
