"We got a suite with a private jacuzzi on the balcony - the view was great, but the place is falling apart a bit. The tub was leaking in places and had a slime-y residue inside, and multiple floorboard soft the balcony were rotted through and gave way underfoot. The photos here aren't quite reflective of the property's current state. Even in the public onsen, the windows are covered with salt on the outside, obscuring the view. Beautiful place and the food they serve was good, but some updates...

"We had a really lovely stay here. We felt totally immersed in the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese Ryokan. The food was both delicious and always beautifully presented. We are really glad that we made this stop as part of our travels around Japan. Mount Fuji was mostly covered in isolated low level cloud, but we did get a gorgeous view once or twice.
Points to note are that there are no other facilities other than your room and dining room which is accessed at set, pre agreed times. Early...

"We absolutely loved Mizumari. Taiyo and his staff went above and beyond for us, and all of Mizumari was beautiful. It was our favorite stay in Japan!"

"This is an onsen ryokan. A natural hot spring Japanese style inn. It is quiet and relaxing. If there is not an option for dinner when you book, contact the hotel directly (not Expedia). It is a must to participate in eating the multi course meal. Not only is it delicious, there is not much near by. Each night the menu changes, but it is a set menu. You will not be disappointed. Also, schedule your pick up at the train station.

"Staff is very welcoming; we got a snack upon check-in. We went with the dinner option by the riverside as it was hyped up by youtubers, but we found that the price is not worth the price tag. We paid around $260 for 2 people for dinner. The food could be a lot better to justify the price tag.
The room is a bit old. Other than those two points, the environment is nice and room is very clean and comfortable."

"Remote and serene. Buffet was a great option after many Ryokan stays around the area with omakase."

"The staff was absolutely wonderful. We would like to thank Thapa Pratap and Yubarat for being so accommodating and patient with us. This was our first onsen and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Loved being on the countryside of Japan."

"It is smaller than other Associa I stayed in but I really like their breakfast. They are locally sourced and introducing me to new items that are original to Shizuoka "
"Friendly, helpful staff. Great room with lovely water views, amazing Onsen, lovely Japanese breakfast served by enthusiastic staff. Great place to stay and excellant value!"
"A good place to stay and relax. Only down side is that there are some communication barriers since I don't speak Japanese and the staff doesn't really speak English, but they did try their best to communicate with you, things like prepared cards and using translation app on their cell phone."
"Right next to Numazu Station, so great location for getting to/from. Huge room by Japanese business hotel standards. V friendly staff and I was allowed to check-in slightly earlier upon arrival. Hotel rules mean that room is fully serviced after night three even if it does not require servicing. I was lucky to have a room which had a great view of Mt Fuji in the morning before the clouds appeared. Buffet breakfast catered for all tastes and is served between 6am-10am Mon-Fri, 7-10 Sat/Sun. "
"This was simply one of the best accommodation choices I have made in years! My room was large, bright and clean. The bed was huge and comfortable. There was a balcony with a beautiful view of the coast. The manager was very polite, enthusiastic and friendly. He showed how much he values his guests. I had selected a breakfast option before arriving and had delicious local food brought to my room in the morning. Drinks, pool and onsen are all provided in this hotel. I informed the manager that I will definitely be back and he seemed to be pleased.
The village of Usami is lovely and quiet during the week. There are very few shops but the large town of Atami is a short but scenic train journey away (2 trains per hour). "
"Lovely staff, good breakfast. Pool wasn’t open the beginning of July as we hoped but we could still enjoy the pool deck and the beach and ocean were close by and refreshing to swim in."
"This place is a welcomed respite after Tokyo. We enjoyed our time here relaxing. The rooms were clean and spacious, the food was great, and the workers were very helpful. I would stay here again!"
"Staff were so friendly, I greatly appreciated it. I checked in after doing my Mt Fuji hike. It was just to stop before heading to Kyoto. The bed is firm but I didn’t care because I slept great. Breakfast was amazing as well. "
"Staff are very kind and speak English well. The room was a good size for a solo traveler and was very clean. Highly recommend staying if you are traveling to Numazu."
"Very kind staff and clean rooms. I had booked a private bath as my father had a prominent tattoo but the reception was able to provide tattoo covers, which was very kind of them. The surrounding town tends to have quite a bit of cars, and there isn't always a clear sidewalk so potential visitors please keep that in mind. It is about a 10minute walk from Ito Station. Lovely overall, would love to return."
"The hotel was amazing! Just driving to the guest house to check in, we saw Mt. Fuji. The staff during check in were so friendly and kind. Our room was magnificent! It was huge! The in room open air onsen was so wonderful. We could see Mt. Fuji as we relaxed in the onsen. The hotel was really clean and well maintained. We loved our stay, and wish we would have booked more nights at this awesome resort. "
"I found out about this place from Love Live Sunshine.
The hotel is on island so you have to get to it by boat (hotel takes care of this for you) is very cool. It adds an extra step, but it’s worth it.
The room had a great view of Mt. Fuji across the ocean.
The Japanese restaurant was amazing!
The hotel staff were nice and helpful.
The Love Live room was a nice touch.
