"Barge Inn was outstanding. It was immaculately clean and very well equiped. The view is stunning(including eagles and osprey winging past at eye level!!!) and we just wanted to stay put and watch from that glorious cathedral style screened in porch! Our hosts were very responsive to our questions and were generous with their time in telling us all about the history of the area and great suggestions about area attractions that fit our interests. We can't say enough about our appreciation of our stay there!"

"The room was clean, and the staff was great. The facilities are old. The air conditioner was inefficient, but did OK. It would have a difficult time on a hot day I suspect. There are a lot of paint issues so you can tell the facilities are old."

"What a wonderful time we had hanging out at this property for an extended weekend. Peaceful and secluded, this home backs up to the shoreline and has incredible views from the back deck. Inside is warm and cozy with plenty of room and a nice, big fireplace. Kitchen is well stocked and the bathrooms have everything you need. The homeowners, who live close by, were engaging and helpful and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We caught fish off of the boat ramp, encountered deer, turkeys, lizards, squirrels and a plethora of birds and watched several barges floating down the river. Round it all out with a fire pit and a peddle boat and we had one relaxing weekend. Husband Greg is already talking about going back and we just got home!"

"We enjoyed our stay overall—the view was wonderful, the kitchen was great to use, and we really appreciated that the property is dog-friendly.That said, for the price, we didn’t expect the level of wear and tear we noticed throughout the home, along with some cleanliness issues upon arrival. With a bit more attention to upkeep and cleaning, this property could truly match its potential.Overall, we had a good stay."

"It was ok but there are some negatives. The young lady at the desk was great, at check in she walked me over to the next door building where the room was and showed me how to unlock the building and room door. I noticed though, walking up the stairs was very loud. The building is old and absolutely beautiful but that comes with a price. Every step you take, on floors, stairs and in room is incredibly loud. When you are in your room, you hear every footstep made in the building (especially the stairs) and you hear every bit of outside noise as though there is little to no insulation. There was no blind in our window, only a curtain. Thats fine unless you wanted to sleep in a bit. 630 am and the room was completely lit from daylight. Side note, on sat and sun, the cafe doesnt open until 8 am and there is no Continental breakfast. The cafe is now called "Birdies" and gives 10% discount on coffee to commodore visitors. That was quite disappointing because it was advertised on hotels.com listing. The place was very beautiful and clean, just noisy. Bring your own pillow too, the bed was alright but the pillows are absolutely terrible. Those negatives are ok if you know upfront, I would stay again but with lower expectations next time."

"For anyone wanting a quote place to retreat with Great Lake views this is the place. The sunsets are amazing over the water and to bald eagles take flight from near by nest is amazing. The house is very well maintained and adequate for a group of people or even just couples getaway. The house is furnished with anything you could possibly need and very well maintained. If you enjoy to fish, the boat ramp offers a clean easily accessible spot to do so from the bank. We managed to catch a variety of different species. While the house and area is great, the host is just as great. The communication from the host is excellent. We even left a few items and they shipped them back to us.So if you’re looking for a hassle free, amazing vacation spot on the lake, this is your place! From home to host this is the place! "
