Brilliant place to stay staff and owners were extremely helpful and friendly bedroom was as they said and we both slept all night . food was very good and plentiful the beer and cider too!! It was so good we stayed an extra night as breakfast was ace as well

Had a pleasant one night stay with my partner, as our travels took longer than expected we were about to miss the check in time. When I called them, Sophia was brilliant, guiding me how to check in outside of the check in time and giving me her contact details for any problems arising. Once there everything was smooth and the rooms were charming!

I enjoyed my stay here the room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The food and drink was excellent. The staff very friendly and happy to help. I was advised a couple of lovely walks from the pub which I enjoyed a lot. Overall I had no complaints

The inn appears to be the centre of the community, can get busy in the evening, but it is good to see it thrive. Room clean and spacious. Food great, staff friendly and helpful. There appears to be a little work in progress at the moment. There is limited parking at the property but lots of free space at the memorial hall a five minute walk away. Shops can be found nearby at Yelverton or there is the market town of Tavistock. Beautiful dartmoor is also close by.

I booked a room here in an effort to escape my overbearing, mostly live out landlord one weekend and I had an amazing stay. Staff were friendly, bar wasn't clique-y at all and the food and beer was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Would highly recommend.

Cosy old inn with a lovely atmosphere. Room was nice with a great walk-in shower. Friendly staff, great food and dog friendly. Perfect location for exploring Dartmoor. Would happily return.

The inn is steeped in history and in a remote, quiet spot. Unfortunately our room had been left with unsightly water marks as a result of a leaking roof (which has been fixed) all over the ceiling, especially above the bed, and wall. It made the room look very shabby and for the price not great value. The floating floor feels like it’s a sinking floor in some spots and you need to tread lightly. The bathroom is modern and spacious. The staff were lovely, very welcoming and friendly.

The first thing we noticed on arrival was the vary small amount of parking available. We had to find a spot round the back. When we got inside the lady was very helpful and showed us up to our room. It was directly above the bar but the noise was not intrusive. The bed, while comfortable, squeaked with the slightest movement, but as long as we stayed still, it was ok. The bathroom had no lock, and the door latch didn't work so the door couldn't be closed. We had to wedge it shut with towels during seated occupation... When we went down for breakfast, the tables still had crumbs and mess from the night before. The breakfast itself was ok. The scrambled eggs were microwaved, but it wasn't bad. There seemed to be a general lack of milk. If you want milk in your room you have to go get it from the bar, and the coffee was provided without milk so you would need to get from the bar if you want it. Overall, definitely not the best place we've stayed at, but also not the worst. Sleep quality was medium to good, which is the most important aspect.
