East Side Kid friendly Vacations

The room was filthy. Something of unknown substance was smeared across the full length mirror from top to bottom. The sink had hair and toothpaste in it. Every surface was dusty. There was, on the AC unit … not small smatters of red matter. Food? Blood? I don’t know. I asked for a new room or someone to come clean and they sent up a package of Clorox wipes for me to clean myself. I paid $724 for this disgusting room.

We felt very welcomed when we checked into 48LEX — the staff member who assisted us was exceptionally pleasant. The hotel’s location is excellent, with easy access to the subway and plenty of nearby food options. We also enjoyed the restaurant attached to the hotel; the breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of choices. Our room was pleasantly spacious for New York, but unfortunately the air conditioning did not work well. We were told it operates on an environmental sensor that requires movement, which meant the room became too warm at night and made it difficult to sleep, despite the comfortable, firm bed. Additionally, one of the elevators was out of service for the entire weekend, leaving only one operational, which caused delays.
