The hotel reception staff were very welcoming and super helpful, and quick to respond when we required some maintenance help in our room. The room was clean, although a little dated, and could do with a slight modernisation. However, the staff kept the hotel very clean. The location was great- a 2min walk to the subway, so easy to get places quickly if we didn’t fancy a walk, and was a 10min walk to Central Park. There was also a good selection of restaurants nearby as well as bakeries, bars and some shops. Although further away from the main attractions in Manhattan, the hotel was in a quieter area of NYC which was nice after busy days exploring.

The staff, Kevin Buestan, is the rudest and condescending front desk person I’ve ever met in New York. We travel to NY on a regular basis and stayed at different hotels. We chose Shelbourne Sonesta this time because the room floor plans are big compare to other new hotels. I won’t be coming back to this hotel and WILL NOT recommend because of how Kevin treated us. We booked 3 rooms for 6 nights, so it wasn’t cheap. But we didn’t get the standard treatment with courtesy. The lady manager was nice but the staff especially Kevin were not.

My Wife & I picked the Omni because it is close to our daughters apt although it's a little more expensive that we would normally choose. It has a lovely pool, the lobby goes on forever & features several snack/drink options. It also has activity areas for children. Our room was comfortable with nice shower. Our 1rst morning about 8:45 there was a lotta noise. When my wife opened the curtain to see we were surprised to find a man on scaffold 2 feet away. Later at the pool we observed many such occurrences on the other side of the building. Perhaps this was necessary but a heads-up might have been nice. Parking in the area is tough & valet is higher than we would choose.
