Wonderful place to allow everyone to enjoy the outdoors. Rooms were spacious and the view of the sand dunes was pretty. Lots of jack rabbits running around. Staff very friendly. Bathrooms were kept very clean. If you enjoy being in the outdoors this is for you, on windy nights the walls of the rooms do shake and can keep you awake if you are a light sleeper but I wrall I would highly recommend and would love to come back in the future. They also supply s'mores fixings on the evening at a fire pit, they have corn hole, sand volleyball and BBQ areas to fix your own food. Nice place.

Staff were very helpful. The little extras that made the trip easier, like being able to purchase prepared food ready to go on the BBQ, was excellent. Also being able to rent sand boards for the dunes.

Unique camping experience near the Great Sand Dunes. Spacious canvas tents with beds. Friendly staff. We loved the community bonfire and s’mores in the evenings. The to-go lunch packs and grill packs were great meal options. They have sand sled rentals. Our family really enjoyed our stay.

This was a fun novelty stay with my dog. Everyone was friendly. Tents and linens were clean, as well as the bathrooms. My first tent had broken screens that wouldnt zip allowing all the bugs in. And at 5pm there were a TON of gnats a d mosquitos. They were relentless, so the screens were necessary. They graciously found another tent for me though. The bugs lessened after sunset, but if you're one that mosquitos love, you're going to be a buffet. Electronic bug repellent devices, or citronella candles,or anything would have been a nice inclusion. Breakfast is included but is package instant oatmeal or a pre-made small breakfast burrito. Not really worth any extra cost. All in all, this was a fun novelty visit, with really nice views, and close proximity to the dunes. But, for the price, I thought it would be way more "glampy" than it was.

Rustic Rook is just that. There is a wood stove for heat and when we stayed it was a challenge to keep the. Fire going. This was more due to the fact that I am not familiar with the approach to having heat. The rest room was 30 yards away, which for a 70 year old is a challenge since there are multiple trips a night. The tents are pet friendly and dogs are welcome for a $25.00 up charge. The night sky is the draw and it was exceptional. The Milky Way was absolutely amazing to see! After one night we had had enough of roughing it. We were reserved for 2 nights. On checking out I found there was no refund for the 2nd night We didn’t stay, so the cost of the stay was essentially double the rate. While we liked seeing the dark skies and the Milky Way, it was an expensive experience for what you get in accommodations. If you go, it might be better to book a single night and do it in late July to early August when it is warmer at night. Facilities were clean and the staff was friendly and professional.

We arrived late at night the directions were so helpful. I’d arrive in the light 0f day instead. The accommodations were super clean and well designed. It’s an awesome grain bin. So different. Big comfy bed. Lots of blankets. We came for the stars on a dark sky night. It was so satisfying! We laid right outside our grain bin in the back of our truck. We brought pillows and blankets. The Luriad Meteor shower was happening. We watched from 2:30 am till dawn. For me, it was spectacular. I met the owner and she was so cool. They’re completing more places to stay and I’m certain they’ll be awesome. We had the BEST time!!!!!

Wonderful place!

Great place to stay! They made the campfires and scampers each night. Beds were very comfortable and bathrooms were very clean. Everyone was super nice, breakfast was great, location to the national park was perfect. I would plan on buying a grill packet in advance because that is something we missed and would have enjoyed.
