The large parking area is used by occupants of the yurt and by occupants of the camper. Smoking is only allowed outdoors (by the fire pit ect.). Please let me know if you plan on smoking so I can leave a professional grade cigarette disposal unit at the site.

The winter water shutdown was difficult to do dishes and make meals… other than that, great stay and very accommodating with great views and outdoor amenities.
We enjoyed our stay in the RV, the host was attentive and it came equipped with everything we needed. My only complaint would be the location of the bed in the bedroom, it’s a full and up against the wall, I get claustrophobic so sleeping on that side of the bed was difficult for me since my partner gets up at night. Other than that we had a good time!
The retro RV was the perfect place for 2 people for an overnight stay close to Great Sand Dunes. I dont think you could get any closer. Beautiful sunset, firepit, and dark skies. It was quiet and clean.
Patrick hosts a perfect site to enjoy the area. His instructions for finding and entering the property are clear and concise. The camper is clean, well equipped and his instructions for use are clear and concise. If you are looking for a quiet retreat to “crash” after a day of exploring the area, this is it!
We definitely enjoyed the convenience to Great Sand Dunes from this location.
The exterior layout was nicely done with plenty of room, a nice tarp ground cover at the entrance, a fire pit, and a gas barbecue that worked very well. The weather was a bit chilly so we were not able to enjoy those as much as we would have preferred.
The inside was tight and small, which we halfway expected and the bed VERY comfortable. The internet did work.
Now the downside...
We were fine with how tiny the quarters were and could have been just fine about that part. But the cleanliness was a very big deterrent and we actually left early because we didn't want to shower in the unkept tiny tub. The tiny part of the shower was doable but the shower was unkept, as was the entire bathroom. The toilet worked but took us a while to figure out how to flush (YouTube came to the rescue). It was a portable toilet that was installed into the bathroom of this unit. Functional when needed but definitely not preferred.
The information booklet left for the renters did provide the internet codes but not much else in terms of helping one get familiar with the unit or the surrounding area.
That RV definitely needs some care and upgrade for the price being charged to stay there.
I would not stay there again.
