What a great place to vacation. The house was lovely, decorated beautifully for Christmas. Everything was homey and very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed. The weather for November was unusually warm and we ate lunch on deck and had a fire outside. Thanks Karen for everything.

Home and property is lovely, very clean and well stocked. Even has a small exercise area. Kitchen is very well stocked. Lots of games. Several gatherings areas inside and out. Nice and quiet. We would definitely recommend this VRBO property and hosts.

We’ve been doing an annual trip since 2015 and this is the nicest house we’ve stayed at thus far. The lack of rain and low water prevented any water activities but didn’t damper the trip one bit. The house was perfect and had everything we needed. We had a great time.

This house is wonderful! The kitchen has EVERYTHING. The beds were comfortable. There was plenty of hot water for showers. The living areas were very homey. The closet filled with toys left our granddaughter playing for hours! This was the best place we have stayed on VRBO. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck, and the campfire in the back, all overlooking the river. Because the river was so low, we couldn't get the kayak or canoe out - but this year has been unusually dry, so it's understandable. We hope to stay here again!

Beautiful home!
This home has a great layout for larger groups, with plenty of space to gather or to find a quiet corner for reading. We watched an owl patrol along the water outside the dining room window on our first night and enjoyed the serenity of the wooded back lot. We plan to return!

Such a hidden GEM
There are not enough ways to share what a lovely property this is! Quiet, relaxing, and extremely comfortable. The host was a fantastic communicator, and the house has everything you could ever imagine you need. Just bring yourselves and whatever groceries you want - otherwise this house is stocked. I commented that it was like being at home except we were on the Cedar River! Austin is a lovely little city as well. We enjoyed the downtown and exploring Austin overall. The neighbors were extremely nice and inviting, and we fell in love with the neighborhood dogs. We also ventured out of Austin and checked out local attractions - too many to detail! A short list includes the MN Zoo (next time we will check out the Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo), LARK Toys, Albert Lea lakes, and Slippery's in Wabasha (yep, Grumpy Old Men inspiration!). We pretty much did everything you read about to do in Austin as well. Great restaurants, beautiful Paramount Theater (we watched Brave), the Hormel Historic House was gorgeoous, and the tour was great, seeing Buffy the Cow, and of course THE SPAM MUSEUM! Don't miss out on the Old Mill Restaurant too - we sat outside by the river. Enjoy enjoy enjoy this home asap!

Ninety four yr old Great-Grandpa loves the great grandchildren, but appreciated his own bedroom bath on the main floor when the preschoolers had fun in the lower level! 70yr old grandpa would LOVE to use the immaculate kitchen to make a Holiday dinner for extended family who could all gather in the dining room!
