  • Set in Hadrian’s Wall Country, this warm and welcoming country cottage invites guests to embrace peace and comfort, resting and recharging between days filled with exploration. The ruins of the ancient wall can be found just 1 mile away, with the famous coast-to-coast route offering an easy-to-follow pathway across 73 miles of breathtaking countryside, stretching through rural Cumbria and Northumberland. Follow the route north to the scenic village of Gilsland (5.5 miles), perched on the edge of the vast Northumberland National Park (8 miles). Cross the River Irthing and head south to Brampton, a charming market town just 3.5 miles away. Surrounding the town are beautiful woodlands and forests, including Gelt Woods (6 miles) and Talkin Tarn (5 miles), both perfect for country walks, wildlife spotting and soaking up a sense of undisturbed tranquillity. A little further afield, the northernmost reaches of the North Pennines National Landscape (5 miles) offer even more opportunities for outdoor adventure.


    This stone cottage has been lovingly maintained with a traditional character, defined by exposed stonework, original beams and a soft, neutral colour palette. Open-plan living awaits on the ground floor, where the lounge, kitchen and dining area are arranged in one sociable space. Warm lighting lends the cottage a cosy glow, while an electric, log burner effect at one side of the room casts an amber warmth on chilly winter evenings. A Smart TV is available for late-night entertainment, and the kitchen/dining area is well-equipped and generously sized. Upstairs, two inviting bedrooms are tucked beneath the eaves, with skylights flooding the double and twin rooms with natural light. Each bedroom benefits from its own en-suite bathroom - one with a shower and the other with a bath.


    When the sun shines or under twinkling night skies, step through French doors into your private, enclosed garden. Furnished and complete with a BBQ, this outdoor space is ideal for alfresco relaxation. The farm enjoys direct access to the banks of the River Irthing, where a charming bench provides a peaceful spot to sit and watch the water trickle by. Private parking is also available for two cars.
