This hotel is a dump. Bathrooms have mold in the shower. Rooms are not what they say they are on the Internet.

If you’re looking for a 4-star hotel then do not chose this one. Moldy showers, air vents that haven’t been cleaned in years, and the staff was absolutely not helpful to us whatsoever. One of the staff members didn’t know I was fluent in Italian and spoke very poorly about us. Refused a refund when we asked the minimum we arrived. Definitely not worth it and very very false advertisement.

This is an old world hotel that does not disappoint in its style and uniqueness. The location is right in the heart of historic Palermo with all the sights within 15 minutes walk in any direction. The breakfast is amazing. The rooftop restaurant is a charming and quiet with a wonderful city panorama with mountain surrounding all around and great for sunsets. The terrace bar is quiet and private with a charming waiter who will remember you. This is a spot for travelers who enjoy an old world experience with charm. If you want to be overlay pampered and think you deserve fantastic luxury - then stay away. You’ll just complain and I don’t want the staff to have to deal with you.

My husband & I had a great stay at Hotel Massimo. The location can’t be beat, all of the main tourist attractions were within a short walk. Federico was lovely and such a big help with recommendations in the area and even for our next destination. The room was clean and we had breakfast delivered to our room each morning. We will stay again next time we are in Palermo!
