  • This Amazing 3 bedroom 2 bath home is located in the Warner Mountain Range in Surprise Valley California. It is surrounded by a working cattle and sheep ranch for a true country feel. If you are looking for the perfect quiet get away this Country "Cabin" that is approx . 3000+/- sq feet of country living space.
    It has 2 private bedrooms and a loft bedroom. This home will sleep 6-10 people with ease. It has a large 3 car garage for a great place for the kids to play. Inside the garage is another apartment that can also be rented for extra sleeping space. It does have it's own bathroom as well.
    This home has views that overlook all of Surprise Valley. You will have access to the Warner Mountains for hiking and recreation.

Pam very responsive — met us at the road in the dark to drive us safely to the house. (We followed her.) House was great! All the wood and sunshine and snow! Very cozy even though it’s huge. Perfect Christmas spot to share with a few friends. Very remote. Many amenities! Finally got to meet the dogs as we were leaving.

Beautiful place

Easy check-in process, the town is 10/15 minutes away and has a few places like a small groceries store. The house was clean and cozy, the wifi worked great, and there was a beautiful view all around.

We love this house. It’s big and airy; it has a deluxe shower; and the kitchen is great. We enjoy off-road adventuring, and Cedarville is the perfect home base for exploring the Warner Mountains to the west and the gorgeous high desert to the east. This was our third stay at Steamboat Stopover Ranch, and we hope to be back next year. Our host, Pam, made us feel welcome — we enjoy our conversations about ranch life. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, not to mention fabulous views, this is the place.

Excellent property with killer views of Surprise Valley and the Warner Mountains. Dark sky location with broad views of stars and Milky Way. A few minutes from Cedarville and the well stocked market and great Country Hearth restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner.

High desert paradise

Winter wonderland

Great location to view Surprise Valley and learn its history. Hosts provided a great tour of a working ranch and offered minor changes that could accommodate our horse trail riding group for a future visit. Allowed us to check in a little early in order to get a quick tour before dark.

Great Space!

This is a lovely space and gave us a much needed break. We stayed here for a few days to see a new part of the country (Surprise Valley is beautiful) and get a break from the city. Check in was so easy and the house had so much space. The beds were comfortable and it was so nice to have a skylight over the bed. The stars were amazing!
