Location was absolutely gorgeous, all the rooms face the lake and had a balcony on there. Some geese came to visit every morning. Room was roomy and extremely comfortable. Convenient location and great prices.

The Waterford was great for our needs. We didn’t need a pool or breakfast, just a nice clean spacious room. The staff was helpful and the price was right! We will return next time we are in the area.

The view from the balcony was great. However, the room was not totally clean. The sheets were clean, the comforter had a obvious blood stain on it, not enough washcloths, smoke on bathroom ceiling,mirror by entry door was not completely mounted, base of the beds were dirty and no staff available, not even by phone.

Staff was amazing and rooms were clean. The view over the water was great but the balcony’s could have been kept up a little better. Also, the hotel in itself is very outdated (as in vending machines, no conditioner, rugs, balcony area).

A basic hotel with a beautiful view of a lake full of wildlife. The Waterbird does not offer a lot amenities but it is clean and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. It is near the Dunelands and a good stage to run into Chicago. Bring binoculars for the birds.
