A basic hotel with a beautiful view of a lake full of wildlife. The Waterbird does not offer a lot amenities but it is clean and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. It is near the Dunelands and a good stage to run into Chicago. Bring binoculars for the birds.

We were pleasantly surprised by our room. The floors were clean. The bed was clean. Everything smelled good even in the hallway. There were no noisy neighbors and the balcony overlooking the water was peaceful and beautiful. We loved getting visits from the geese and the beautiful swan. I would absolutely stay there again.

Even though the Inn is at the back of a fairly busy shopping area, once you are at the Inn, it is very quiet and clean, with spacious rooms. It was also very nice to wake up in the morning and be able to enjoy coffee by the small lake while sitting on the room's private balcony.

We liked our room. Spacious and clean. Wonderful view of the lake. It looks like they are renovating some rooms so ours had some new carpet and flooring but some older cabinets and trim. All together it was a good place to stay.
