Upon arrival, I waited about 10 minutes for someone to come to front desk as they were away. I would hope someone was there at all times. The elevator doesn’t have a pleasant smell nor was their any type of ventilation in the elevator cart. The bathroom in our room didn’t have any hand soap to wash hands. I did noticed the lamps by bedside a bit dusty, maybe they can remember to dust or wipe down there as well. Pillows were small seemed more like decorative pillows. One bed sheet looked like it had a wet spot stain. Also the curtains need a wash. They are stained. There were a lot of channels in television that weren’t included unable to watch. Water in the breakfast fountain machine taste like chlorine.

Under newer ownership, NOT your traditional Country Inn in regards to exceptional upkeep and amenities. Pool area is falling apart everywhere. Many things needed updating in the room bathroom and they only offer cleaning service every 3rd day. Staff was nice, but I'd only stay for overnight if passing through the area. Definitely not for a extended stay.

Unbeatable proximity to Great America, clean and updated rooms, and microwave included! Seeing that less and less these days. Ask for a third floor room if you are sensitive to stepping/thuds from upper floors. Sound was very present whenever upstairs guests walked. All other times I’ve stayed in the past have been on the third floor and have had very pleasant, quiet stays.

If giving ZERO stars was an option, that would be my selection. We traveled to Gurnee, IL, to attend my mother-in-law’s funeral and chose this hotel because we needed two rooms for our family and felt the price and location would meet our needs. After a long day of travel, we arrived to find a dimly lit property with hallways that smelled strongly of cigarette smoke (in a smoke free facility). Once in our rooms, we noticed the floors were dirty and the overall cleanliness was disappointing. Exhausted from traveling, and needing rest before an early morning funeral service, we tried to make the best of it. Unfortunately, the beds were extremely uncomfortable—you could feel the springs through the mattresses, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. We were told upon check in that housekeeping was every third day?! No trash taken out, no coffee refill, no new towels…nothing. The following morning, we discovered there was no hot water. The showers were only lukewarm at best and never reached a comfortable temperature. The photos that are posted online must be stock photos. There is nothing that looks anything like that in person at this location. When paying over $1,000 for two rooms, I expect the basics: a clean room, a comfortable bed, and a hot shower. Sadly, this hotel failed to provide any of those. Based on our experience, I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it to others.

The breakfast was great. The room was okay. The door for the bedroom barely closed. You had to basically slam the door to shut it. The employees weren't welcoming. Parking was fine. The pool was very small. The pillows were tiny and the bed was hard. My daughter said that the pullout bed was uncomfortable.
