Whether you're visiting the North Georgia mountains for a wedding, winery tours, one of our many festivals like Oktoberfest, admiring the fall leaves, a college graduation, a family vacation, or in hopes of striking it rich while panning for gold, we're certain that our home will be a place of rest and relaxation during your stay. Visit the Bavarian Alps replica town of Helen, Georgia nestled in the Appalachian mountains of North Georgia. This area was once home to the mighty Cherokee. When settled by Europeans in the 1800's it became the site of the first U.S. gold rush. Then later became the quaint little German town it is today. Come during late September through the end of October to not only enjoy the changing leaves, but also experience the Oktoberfest celebrations! Our home is also an excellent place of respite for the adventurer! There are countless hiking trails, excellent roads for mountain biking, exceptional trout fishing waters, and more waterfalls than you can see on one trip. Fun for the whole family too, with a waterpark, zip line adventures, horseback riding, river tubing, mini-golf, gold & gem mining, award-winning vineyards, a local brewery, unique shops, amish bakeries, antiquing, great local & German cuisine, and much more! Our mountain chalet was built in 2005\. It has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 living spaces, and a kitchen and dining area. There's more than 1000 sq. ft. of wrap around porches to take in the majestic mountain views. When you're ready to relax after a long day of exploring all the area has to offer, slip into the hot tub with a glass of wine or make s'mores in the camp fire out back. The views were breathtaking from every window and all three decks. The cabin’s location was a very short drive to our new favorite spots: Helen tubing, Anna Ruby Falls, waterfalls with swimming, downtown Helen and scrumptious local restaurants. We also especially enjoyed the host-gift of S’Mores fixings. It is only a few minutes to Helen which is great! The views are phenomenal! We were only a quick drive from downtown Helen yet it felt like we were nestled far away. The property was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Very comfortable, well stocked! We spent Thanksgiving there with 11 people. Helen was fun to visit. The cabin had beautiful views of the mountains that we enjoyed every sunrise and sunset! We visit our family in Helen, Ga quite a bit and have stayed in VRBO's all over Sautee, Cleveland and Helen. This by far was the best experience we've had! The home is absolutely beautiful, the floorpan and layout is perfect for a large family (tho it was only 3 of us this time lol) and the kitchen came stocked with everything we needed for our 6 day stay. Upon our arrival (we were even allowed to get there a bit early thanks to Mitch) we were blown away when we walked in and took in the amazing mountain views off the back deck. The home was very clean and each bedroom was perfectly prepared. Our 13 yr old son loved having the downstairs basement to himself and the wife and I loved our 3rd floor master suite with balcony. The hot tub was wonderful when it got into the 30's at night and we had a wonderful time sitting around the huge fire pit when our family visited. We have decided that this will be the only home we book from now on when visiting and we can't wait for our next trip North! The cabin's location was perfect, just a short drive from Helen and Dahlonega, and the easy access via a paved lane made it a breeze to get to, even without 4WD. The three-level layout of the cabin was ideal for our family, providing ample space for everyone. The views from the cabin were simply breathtaking, and we could have easily spent our entire trip admiring the scenery without ever leaving. Our grandkids are 7 & 3 and they loved everything . The 3 yr old said it was amazing. The cabin was perfect for all of us. Everything that we needed was available.
