It’s also an important place for the Djabugay Aboriginal people, who have inhabited the mountains and forests of the national park for thousands of years.

As you walk among the eucalyptus trees and giant licuala palms of this wet tropics world heritage area, appreciate the sharp contrast with the shore and reef locations along northern Queensland’s coast.

Davies Creek National Park, established on the historic lands of the Buluwai people, is filled with rocky outcrops, streams and aromatic eucalyptus trees. Follow trails through the park to appreciate its uncrowded wild spaces and reach its namesake waterfall.
