Summary: 3 BR/2 BA, loft w/twin bunk. Ski school is on the 1st floor, condo on the 2nd. There is parking for 2 vehicles. The Space: Tailored to families, First Tracks CB (Whetstone Building) is a 3+ bedroom/2 bath, slope side Ski-in/Ski-out condo that sleeps 8\. This condo is directly above Crested Butte’s ski school (called Camp CB) and a snowball’s throw from the resort's main high speed lifts (Silver Queen and Red Lady). The unit is on the 2nd floor of the Whetstone building and upon walking in you'll discover a cozy living room with wood burning fireplace and large screen tv. As part of this space you have a dining table that seats 6 with additional bar top seating. The kitchen has granite countertops and is fully equipped kitchen for the chef in the family. Also on the main floor is the primary bedroom with a king bed and a fully renovated bathroom with a walk in shower. There is also a full sized washer/dryer across from the bathroom. There are also several decks to watch your skiers from or to just enjoy some Colorado sunshine. On the 2nd floor of the condo are 2 bedrooms one with a queen bed and the 2nd with 2 twins. Between these bedrooms is another full sized bathroom with a tub/shower combo that has just been remodeled in late 2024\. There is also a rather large space that we call the "Loft Bunk Room" that has a bunk bed with a twin over twin, a couch and a smart TV. Bring your tv apps with you and your accounts and watch tv to your hearts content! As an end unit with private balcony and southern exposures, natural sunlight floods the living area and provides extraordinary unobstructed views of Mt. Crested Butte and surrounding peaks. The schlep is over…no more dragging the family’s skis across parking lots, etc. to get kids on the mountain. Ski School drop off is 1 flight of stairs below with your private ski locker right outside your door. Drop the kids and hop on the Silver Queen lift in minutes! Throughout the day, First Tracks CB’s on-slope location is a great base camp. With a full kitchen and dining area, drop in for a bite to avoid the lunch crowds (and long restaurant waits), or warm up with a quick cup of hot chocolate by the fireplace. For those taking a rest day or non-skiers, cozy up for a book or movie by the fireplace and watch your little ones take their first runs on the magic carpet directly outside. After an epic day of some of Colorado’s best skiing, you are a few strides away from the resort base amenities: Restaurants, apres, spas and ski shops. Vehicle access is as easy as it gets as the unit has 2 reserved parking spot on site in the same lot as ski school drop off. AWD or 4WD is suggested to get into the parking lot. For summer and fall activities, Crested Butte’s renowned mountain biking, kids adventure center and ropes course begins right outside the door. Designed for families. Smart HD TVs in every bedroom with Amazon Fire Sticks. Additional living area/playroom loft on 2nd floor with Smart TV, board games and puzzles. All of our kitchens are fully stocked with pots, pans, cookware and utensils. While most properties have salt, pepper, and basic cooking pantry items, we do not guarantee these will be available upon arrival. Full Washer/Dryer in the unit. Private ski storage closet at the top of the stairs stocked with a few sleds if the kids still have some energy left at the end of the day! Bedroom 1 King, Bedroom 2 Queen, Bedroom 3 2 twin beds, Bedroom 4 (loft) twin bunk bed. NO SMOKING IS ALLOWED anywhere on the premises. Any evidence of smoke will incur fees. This property is not pet friendly. NO PETS ARE ALLOWED! Any evidence of pets will incur fees. Renters 25 years and older are welcome. Please note that we do count all children and infants in the headcount for the property. The Neighborhood: This is truly at the base area. Walk out the door, down the stairs and you are at the Silver Queen. Walk up the slopes slightly to the retail shops. No car needed. Shuttle stop is maybe a 5 minute walk. Getting Around: You will want an AWD or 4WD vehicle in winter months if you rent a car or decide to drive. This is the perfect home base for your winter and summer stays - steps from Camp CB (ski school) and so close to the base area. The updates completed to this condo were so appreciated. This is the perfect set-up with kids! Our kids loved watching from the balcony and large window as the mountain bikers jumped and raced. Go down a short set of steps and ski or walk to the lifts.. at 75 years old I found it better to clip in and ski down to the beginner lift the ski over to Red Lady or Silver Queen lift. It was easier than walking a little ways up hill to the lifts. The wall of mirrors was a little weird and if you are under 5 ft 9 inches you will not be able to reach the microwave as it is very high. Pretty good on the inside. The condo is in an unbelievable location with great views! Upon arriving we found about 50 dead flies in the upstairs bedroom and another 50+ flying around. We contacted the management company and they apologized. The live flies kept dying during our stay, so we kept finding dead flies everywhere. There is no overhead lighting, so the inside has a dark feel which can feel cozy, or can be hard to play games, etc. Some of the lightbulbs were out and the management company offered to come replace them. One bulb in the kitchen overhead light kept going in and out, which was rather annoying. We brought cooking dishes and items such as knives, graters and whisks but didn’t need them. Unfortunately one of the window screens upstairs wasn’t fully attached to the frame so we weren’t comfortable opening the window very far so it got quite warm in there. Nicely renovated, very well appointed kitchen, comfortably sleeps several people, or families with accommodations both upstairs and downstairs and they loft area for kids to sleep and hang out. Would recommend improved lighting and all of the bedrooms. Management company was very helpful and very responsive. The condo and the property was absolutely gorgeous and was furnished nicely with everything I needed. I do recommend exercising for a while before you get there. The steepness of the walk up to the condo and the stairs w/in can exhaust you! Some things definitely need to be repaired/updated. Good location and access to shops/restaurants near the lift as well as easy drive to hiking, downtown and more. Kitchen was very well outfitted. Loved the location. More than enough room for our family of five and no one on top of us or below us to worry about as you often have to in a condo building.
