“It had been a tough year for our family, and we were badly in need of a getaway surrounded by loved ones and the beauty of nature. The Red Door Lodge was the perfect prescription. The octagonal, log house has a feel of authenticity yet with all the modern conveniences. There was more than ample room inside for us, our adult grandkids and their awesome mom … but it was the grounds with many mowed trails and a gorgeous lake that were most amazing. “This was a lovely get away from the city - about 4 hours from Chicago with an easy drive. It's a new to renting so we were one of the first renters. It's in great shape, it has a grill and the kitchen utensils meant for cabin life. The host was very responsive with any questions we had. We enjoyed the calls of the loons, the dock and the fire pit. The only draw back (which is also a plus for a nature escape) is that it took about 30m minutes to get to town so come prepared with food for the……
