The entrance was a bit difficult for older patrons. Bathroom was tiny. Parking was good but across the street. Not sure if there was air conditioning but we didn’t need it. The body wash dispenser was empty and there was one light bulb in the bathroom that didn’t work so I asked for a remand fixed it. The free breakfast was a bit skimpy but would keep you from starving. The historical aspect was very interesting. Portraits of a lot of famous people who had stayed there in the past. All in all it was a charming place.

I thought the hotel was really good for its age and nostalgia. The pool looked amazing despite being closed. The inn could use lighting upgrades. Selling nostalgia is nice, but it’s still nice to feel secure and be able to see as well as possible. The breakfast was ok. Seems like low end stale items. Plus no high chair for children. Opening up the room and better lighting would vastly improve the aesthetic nature of the breakfast setting. The room was dark and dingy and it set the vibes into a quiet whispery awkwardness among guests. I would consider staying again.

Victorian decor. Excellent bed and pillows. Spotless room and bath. Very quiet. Our room had a separate sitting room. Continental breakfast was helpful. Staff offered d as suggestions for restaurants in the area.

The property was old, but we knew that when making our reservation. It needs a lot of maintenance. As our check-in was being completed we were notified the water would be turned off at 8am the next day. Hot water was difficult get. Outlets for changing were not sufficient. Staff was pleasant but not friendly.

Loved the history and the lobby sitting area. The "Breakfast" was a total bust, worst I have seen in many moons (Motel 6 quality). Location is fair, several blocks from the prime historic downtown area.

Loved that the inn is a piece of history with most of its original interior historical details from that period. The lobby and sitting area were very inviting, but the breakfast room was very plain and utilitarian. We stayed in the Standard King room on the second floor, overlooking the pool area. The room was clean and simple. It had a small refrigerator, coffee maker, but no microwave. The bathroom counter space was on the small size, but adequate, and located outside the toilet and bathtub area, which I appreciated. The toiletries provided were of higher quality. The room did not come with blackout curtains, just regular ones, so the lighting from the pool area shone into the bedroom at night. There was no air conditioning, due to the hotel's historic architecture, but we were able to open our windows to get fresh air, Breakfast consisted of hardboiled eggs, yogurt, cereal/oatmeal pkgs, pastries and some fruit. The coffee was good. The Wyndham Corp. should invest a little more money into this property to keep up the shine on such a beautiful piece of history. Small parking lot on site and second lot was across the road to the back of the inn, Both had a fence around them, but I don't think the gates are closed at night.

The majestic main room adjacent to lobby check-in is glorious in its splendor of a bygone era. It includes comfortable sitting areas, a fireplace, and grand piano. The rooms are, likewise, comfortable in a style of past elegance.

This is an old hotel from the 1800's that has been renovated, kind of place appeals to me. The main lobby takes you back to an earlier time, think fine furniture, pictures and rugs. The rooms are large and comfy for a place like this, views iffy. In the downtown so dining is nearby and parking abundant. Will definetly stay again.

As a historic hotel it doesn’t feel anywhere close to how old it actually is, the room sizes are good and nothing in them felt dated, it’s well kept up. Everything was cleaned well (as a former housekeeper I was impressed) and I had no qualms about using anything. The front desk was more than willing to answer any questions-it was nice that someone was there at almost any hour. The parking lot out back being locked from 12-6am was a nice feature. I love that they decorate for holidays it’s so fun!

The room was comfortable, the location was odd, I didn't feel comfortable leaving anything in the car, but that could just be me not having any local knowledge. Road construction limited local movement. Breakfast selection was very limited. But the main issue was wifi and because the tv ran on hulu, all streaming, we couldn't watch anything. I did call the front desk and staff offered to come up but after I asked if they were working alone, I said we could live without it

This is a historic hotel located close to the waterfront. Staying here itself is an experience, not for amenities but for its historical significance. The staff are not very friendly, probably they are unionized as it could happen at major landmarks like this, ignore it and enjoy the stay. Highly recommend if you are slightly interested in the US history and heritage.
