Luxurious, Ski in/out, with amazing views throughout, gourmet kitchen, and a private hot tub. Located at the bottom of the "Bail Out" ski trail at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. The entry foyer opens to huge contemporary rooms with walls of windows reaching the treetops with views of the surrounding majestic mountains. The open flow design features 29’ whole-tree cedar columns from the main floor to the vaulted ceilings and supports a centrally located floating loft (bedroom) and catwalk. Thoughtful use of natural materials seamlessly marries the luxurious interior of the home with the exterior of the forest and mountains. Located in the Purcell Woods Close Loop, this beautiful, pristine home is ski-in/out and an ideal gathering spot for friends and families. The main floor of this property has two living rooms, one in the back and one in the front of the house, each with a fireplace (1 wood, 1gas). The centrally located open-concept gourmet kitchen offers granite countertops, high-end appliances, and a gas cooktop. A separate dining room seats eight comfortably. Expanding views of sky and mountain are to the west and the mornings sunrise can be seen through the floor to ceiling picture windows from the east. In addition, the main floor has two beautifully furnished bedrooms (two twin beds, one queen) with a full bathroom, powder room, and laundry room. Outback, the private hot tub awaits. A large master bedroom, en suite with shower, with a Jacuzzi tub is located on the top floor with a private deck. A catwalk leads to an open concept loft (with queen bed and single bed) in the middle of the house that overlooks the main floor. Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is located high in the Dogtooth Range of the Purcell Mountains, 14 km above Golden, British Columbia. Surrounded by the towering peaks of two other mountain ranges – the Rockies and Selkirks – it is also close to six of Canada’s most spectacular National Parks: Banff, Jasper, Kootenay, Yoho, Glacier, and Mt. Revelstoke. Finding Kicking Horse isn’t hard if you know where to look. The checkin/out process was very smooth; well appointed kitchen. The loft bedroom will only work for those who go to bed late and wake early as it is completely exposed. Hot tub was great too! Definitely need a vehicle as it’s a good drive from town. As this was summer time, no services available on the mountain in terms of groceries, etc so come with that, including ice and bug spray! My family, including adults, teens, and a 10 month old, stayed here and used it as a base for our visits to Yoho, Glacier, and Banff National Parks. The house was clean, spacious, and very comfortable for all of us. The gas fireplace was a favorite gathering place and the teens really enjoyed the hot tub, which was very clean. Mary-Beth was easy to communicate with and quick to respond to the one question that we had. It was exactly as described and a welcome change from staying in hotels. The owner was very responsive both before and during our stay, which we appreciated. Due to the wildfires in Jasper, we adjusted our plans and found Golden to be a great alternative. We visited Yoho National Park, explored the Golden Skybridge, and even went paragliding off Mount 7! The location is about 15 minutes from downtown Golden, which has plenty of nice restaurant options. Great location to explore Yoho, Jasper and Banff parks. Kids loved the hot tub and parents had plenty of space in the kitchen to prepare meals. Kicking Horse resort grizzly bear and gondola rides were spectacular. Golf at Golden GC was close by and a great value for such a well kept course. This area has something for everyone and the house was perfect for our large group to unwind at the end of long hikes.
