I'd like to begin by saying that the host was a very nice man and I wish I didn't have to write this review.
I could not check in through the link I was sent - or pay - because there may have been a problem - but on arrival I asked when I could pay and we agreed I would pay in the morning before leaving.
We stayed here as we were attending a play at Richmond Theatre.
We were three women staying in one room.
Upon arrival we could see the property was a little old and in need of some TLC but that never bothers me if the room is okay. Unfortunately this was the problem.
The room was VERY cold. There was a small plug in heater but with no operating instructions and in any case we would not use it because the plug sockets were literally hanging off the walls.
Our arrival was expected - could the room not have been warmed up? We all slept fully clothed. I haven't had to do that for about 40 years! There was one pillow each, one was like a thin piece of fabric and once was like a hard block of wood. We ended up using our coats as pillows.
All night the air was cold that we were breathing in. Very uncomfortable.
The tap in the bathroom was loose and worked part of the time. To use the toilet, your legs had to fit under the sink.
Very noisy road, no double glazing and no curtains up, only thin blinds. We could not wait to check out. Perhaps we got a bad room? I said nothing to the host but just paid. At that stage there was nothing he could have offered.
We would never stay again.
