The staff here is the best they’re friendly and kind. It’s probably the best mix of affordability Comfort and Service and Grants Pass where I stay every time.

Liked: Cleanliness
A good 2 star place to rest and shower.
Place is old but clean. Room has a refrigerator, tv and a microwave. Shower has no soap or shampoo so bring your own. Air conditioning is cold and loud enough to drown any noise. Bed is ok but when you’re tired it is work. Floor is hard no carpet. Parking lot is well lit and clean of garbage and no homeless people around. Pool is empty when I was there and ice machine and vending machine is outside.
CONs:
*Low-budget room was underwhelming aesthetically, grout needs cleaning in shower which made me question cleanliness.
*No outlets for USB charging on desk or side tables.
*Few available outlets to plug in equipment/ chargers.
*All lamp plugs had exposed wires just beyond wall plug--fire hazard! I unplugged one then discovered the others and I needed some light.
*No secondary lock on interior side of door (which meant anyone with electronic key could get in).
*Could not figure out how to turn on TV with two remotes and gave up quickly.
*Mini-fridge was loud so I was grateful I had ear plugs.
*No amenities in shower. On bathroom counter were two packets of combined shower & conditioner, enough to clean my bangs only, if I had any.
*Coffee only, no teas.
PROs:
*Check in was quick and friendly.
*Nice large mirror outside bathroom at sink (which is great if someone else is in bathroom/showering) plus a full length mirror near door of the unit.
*Loved the side chair for comfy seating while reading under lamp.
*Bed was pretty and appeared clean, with easily wiped pleather headboard.
*Slept great on this medium firm bed and light blocking curtains, despite putting suitcase behind door in case of surprise visitor while traveling alone.
*A few wooden hangers, luggage rack, iron and full size ironing board, and hair dryer provided.
*Fridge and microwave are handy.
*Large desk.
Room was everything you would want and more for the price of stay; I was pleasantly surprised. The bed was very comfortable! Amenities include:AC, working lamps, microwave, mini fridge, TV with cable.
Definitely would stay here again!
Excellent. Fast easy check in, room includes microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, bathtub shower combination. Bed and chairs are super comfortable and the heater works great.
Rooms appeared to be recently upgraded. When checking in, the staff was more than happy to make sure our room & accommodations were everything we expected them to be. We will stay there again when in town.
Staff were extremely friendly, property was clean and well maintained. There's a grocery store and places to get food right next door within easy walking distance.
First off...WOW! The rooms are AAMMAAZZIINNGG!! It kind of gives off a homey vibe, meaning that it feels as if its an actual room inside a home). I love how the room is very big and open, the sink isnt in the bathroom, the bathroom has a window in there, and me, being a girl, really appreciates how theres a big body mirror. Its a great place all around. Check-in is a breeze. The owner and his wife are so friendly, extremely nice, and they do an exquisite job running, maintaining and keeping Sunset Inn very clean.
When checking in, I was questioned about my relationship with the male I was traveling with (which happened to have been my father). The man then walked me to the room, leaning to look into my car where my father was like he didn't believe me. I've been walked to my room only once before and it was by another man who question a woman's traveling companions (that time I was traveling alone) and that time he stood outside my door all night. I slept with my buck knife under my pillow. It was all very creepy.
Then there were dead bugs in the bathtub. No fan. The sink wouldn't turn off to water dripped all night. floor was sticky. Mirror was barely hanging to the wall.
The only redeemable quality was that the bed was low enough to actually get up on.
I even paid a little extra for this room because in the pictures the room looked bigger with a big enough arm chair I'd have been comfortable rocking the baby to sleep in. Room was not spacious. No arm chair. TV was even small.
This is an older hotel, for sure, and it shows in some ways. However, I found everything was clean and the room was comfortable. Based on some of the previous reviews, I really wasn't sure about staying here, but I didn't have any problems with this place at all. The staff was friendly and attentive, the room was spacious and clean, I found the bed comfortable, and despite being located on the main thoroughfare through town, I found my stay to be remarkably quiet. Overall, I thought it was an excellent value and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
DO NOT STAY HERE. The staff is not just rude and unprofessional, they're actually belligerent. Making you're guests feel unsafe is not a great way to make up for the generally rundown and shabby conditions of this flea trap.
