Exceeded Expectations of a Cabin Stay

We LOVED our stay at Surrey Cabin! Quaint, clean, quiet, and the property is breathtaking! The bed was super comfortable and we had everything we needed. We will definitely be coming back!

Wonderful little cabin

Cozy cabin, wonderful hosts, great location near the AT. Probably the most thoughtful host we’ve had, they’ve thought of everything from breakfast treats and extra linens, even dog treats.

Beautiful and Relaxing

Surreybrooke cabin was so lovely. A "shabby chic" oasis. The gardens were beautiful, and the wrap around porch was my favorite spot. There are 3 levels, so be ready to climb stairs. It was centrally located for everything we wanted to see in the area. The scones were yummy, and the cabin provided everything you may need. I hope to be able to come again in the future.

Unique Experience

When we arrived we had to double check to make sure we were in the correct location…way more than expected… lots of space and privacy, real cabin from the 1800s, fully furnished and owners provided snacks and drinks, we had never been to Maryland before…Truly unique experience we will go back hopefully for a little longer

Cozy cabin

What a nice find! The cabin was comfortable and the porch was great. We enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying the fall weather. Everything we needed was there. I wish we weee able to stay longer.

Couples getaway

Went to some of the civil war sights and sight seeing hiked a few trails cabin is right near anything you could want for restaurants and shops but is far enough way from towns so it is very quiet at night spent every evening on the back porch enjoying the peace love the history of the cabin as well

Idyllic Getaway

We stole away to the cabin for a quick weekend trip. The property was very well maintained, very clean, well-equipped for our needs, and picturesque to say the least. It's also conveniently situated only a stone's throw away from various food and recreation spots. We had a great time, and would encourage others to stay here without hesitation.

A great escape

The cabin was sited on a beautiful piece of land looking out over the mountains. The porch was a great place to hang out and our dog liked the big yard. No complaints.

Pure relaxation

This cabin is wonderful! It is quiet and comfortable and takes you back in time. The property is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The adjoining Surreybrooke Gardens are unbelievable and should not be missed either. I will definitely be back again.

Beautiful Cabin

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, cozy cabin. It was very clean, had many nice & convenient touches, and the owners were very friendly. Not far from the original George Washington Monument, Catoctin Creek Nature Center, and South Mountain Creamery which we enjoyed. The shower is not private to the rest of the bedroom, but you can see that in the pictures so we expected that. A great experience and we would consider staying there again!

Absolutely stunning property

It is a pleasure to have discovered this location for a "gateway" that is not an excessive distance from home. The rustic charm of this cabin transports one to a simpler time, where connections with family and self were prioritized. The cabin is remarkably well-equipped, catering to every conceivable need. There is no need for concern about anything! The complimentary scones are truly delectable. I had never been particularly fond of scones until I tasted the ones provided in the cabin. The assortment of coffees and teas was equally impressive, offering a comprehensive selection. The gardens are visually stunning, and we thoroughly enjoyed leisurely strolls through them in the evening. The only aspect that cannot be altered, yet I wish it could be, is the external traffic noise from the nearby road. It is quite noticeable when outdoors, serving as a reminder of the modern world. Fortunately, this noise is not audible within the cabin's thick walls. We will be definitely back!

Perfectly appointed!!!

The owner has so many little details I never would have expected there. I was hoping for dishes and silverware, I wasn’t expecting every bit of cookware and kitchen staple imaginable. They had a lovely selection of coffee pods and teas, creamer, juices, condiments and even delicious scones! They had extra pillows and LOTS of extra fluffy blankets. The cabin truly felt like a home away from home. Our only problem was my husband too big for the bed. He is 6’4” and it was a full size bed with a head rail and foot rail. He was scrunched up all the time. That was all my fault however. It was listed as a full and showed pictures but I didn’t think about his size. Lesson learned! Other than my error, this was a fantastic getaway and we LOVED it. Thank you so very much for all those little details that put our stay over the top!

A surreal little piece of heaven

I can't believe I almost forgot to write a review for this wonderful little cabin at Surreybrooke Gardens. I don't even know where to begin! There is so much life here. From the gorgeous grounds, to the perfectly situated, fully-equipped, wholeheartedly loved cabin...it's all just...well, PERFECT. Every morning we woke up and had coffee on the wraparound porch. And every morning we felt blessed to have made the right choice in accommodations for our trip to Maryland. We stayed here nearly a full week and it STILL didn't feel long enough. The small inconveniences I was worried about like the size of the bed and the shower situation I had read about it in prior reviews were nothing compared to the captivating beauty found here. I am 6'2" and the bed was just fine. Fairly comfortable, actually. I chose not to shower, but opted to bathe instead. My husband showered and though it was slightly awkward, he'd do it a thousand times over for one more day there. We absolutely LOVED Surreybrooke Cabin and will definitely be back again. Thank you for putting so much love into this place.

Our second visit to this little slice of heaven

This was our second trip to Surreybrooke Cabin all the way from California. That right there should tell you something. But this place is so worth every second of travel to get there. This cabin has become our own little haven from the normal hustle and bustle of life. From the moment you drive up, it's like an immediate feeling of peace and serenity fills your soul. When we walked inside the cabin, we were instantly greeted by that familiar smell of wood and spice. I don't know how to explain it. This place has its own smell and it is one that I will always cherish. It smells like calm, warmth, love, and peace. I could go on and on about this wonderful place, but I'll keep it short. Everything was once again....perfect. Fully equipped kitchen, stunning views, all the modern amenities with the fully rustic charm and history. Enjoying coffee on the wraparound deck and watching the pony graze in the distance is how I wish I could spend every morning. The gardens are beautiful and full of life. Lush and fervently cared for. The check in and out processes were seamless. Everything was just perfect. My husband and I cannot wait for our next visit to Surreybrooke.

Cozy Place for Communing with Nature

I went for a week for some solitude. The place was lovely, a refurbished log cabin. The grounds were lovely - lots of space to walk with a world-renowned gardener as the owner. She has a garden shop with acres and acres of gardens that I could walk around in - just beautiful. The backdrop of the Catoctin Mountain range is in full view from the back porch. I hiked the mountain in Gambrills State Park a couple of times. The pony and chickens and barn next door add to the ambience. The kitchen is well-furnished and the owners generously offer home-made scones, coffee, tea, creamer,, bottles of water and juice and much more. The bedroom loft on the top floor is spacious and has a deep tub w/shower. The internet worked very well. One caveat, you need to be okay with stairs. The bedroom is up a flight of stairs and the kitchen is down a flight of stairs. I was going up and down stairs quite a lot, which I actually enjoyed. Also, the furnishings (bed, sofa, chairs) are not modern, but they were comfortable. Mostly I sat on the back porch and communed with the mountain, the pony, the lush trees, the birds and the fireflies.
