Great Stay in Lovely Montsoreau
My husband and I spent 6 days in Le Seize in late October/early November. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The village of Montsoreau is lovely and well equipped with stores and restaurants. Montsoreau’s location was perfect for day trips to various chateaux and wineries. Le Seize is an excellent home away from home- it is very cozy, quiet and comfortable. Glyn and John have thought of everything!

A marvelous, totally restored Village house, well worthy of its four star accommodation rating from France hotel rating services. Wonderfully decorated, loved the towels, the bedding, the comfort, the coziness! The owner’s love of their property is obvious from the moment you open the door and explore this wonderful home!

Lovely cottage, great location
On a quiet street minutes from the Loire with 2 village cafes, 6 restaurants, patisserie, etc. and the local chateau within a 10 minute walk. Village is a hidden gem itself close to much of interest yet not overrun (we spent 3 weeks in June). Cottage ground floor has a spacious sitting/dinning room, a modern, compact, kitchen well equipped for short stays, with big pocket doors leading to a small walled terrace with dining and seating, herbs and flowers. Great place for morning coffee and aperitifs. First and second floors each has a spacious and comfortable bedroom suite. It is a sympathetically restored and modernized cottage, tastefully decorated. Easy parking 5 mins away at the Chateau lot along the river. Delightful hosts. Highly recommend.

Adorable home in picturesque village
This house was perfect for 2 couples traveling together with both bedrooms having en-suite bathrooms. We loved the private outdoor patio/eating area with the glass doors opening off the kitchen. We cooked breakfast each morning and made some “French” dishes from produce & meats purchased from local markets. We loved this area of France with a great bakery in town and with many nearby beautiful villages, chateaus & castles. Glyn & John were the most helpful hosts, even making dinner suggestions and reservations for us. We would definitely stay here again if we return to this area.

We spent more than two weeks in Montsoreau. We had the pleasure to stay at Le Seize. The property is very nice and located in a lovely village. The house comes with laundry facilities and a kitchen well equipped. The hosts, Glyn and John, are very helpful. The property does not include parking, but we had no problem to find parking on the side streets. We hope to come back!

We had a lovely 5 night stay here. The property is very clean and well presented with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Lovely to find such a stylish property that allows dogs. We didn’t meet the owners as everything was provided. Plenty of free parking nearby so not a problem not being able to park at the property. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely, quiet house in Montsoreau
We had a lovely week at this house in Montsoreau, which is ideally located for visiting various towns and chateaux in the Loire valley. Prior to arrival, Glyn was very helpful in answering my questions. The house itself was very clean, beautifully decorated and well-equipped. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and whilst the outside space is limited, the little courtyard was well-presented and ideal for eating outside. It's hard to find any fault with this lovely property - the only downside for us was the lack of off-street parking (we knew this before we arrived) and the garden canopy which, whilst it gives privacy, also blocks out the sun!

Beautiful home in Montsoreau
The house was beautifully furnished and had everything you might need. It’s in a good position in the village for an easy walk to the bars and restaurants. Although you can’t park directly outside the property apart from dropping bags (the road is quite narrow) we always found somewhere to park a couple of minutes away. I’d definitely recommend this property for a relaxing stay.

Beautiful accommodation, stylish, clean neat and tidy, better than the photos. The courtyard is an absolute gem sun is in there at different times of the day so you can always be in or out of the shade. Would recommend this gite wholeheartedly. We had our dog with us and took him for runs on the beach opposite Montroseau.

This was our second visit to The Seize, it is a lovely property in a delightful village. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is available in the house, and Montsoreau is ideally placed for exploring the Loire valley, the chateaux & the wine. Glyn, the host is friendly and accommodating & goes out of his way to be helpful. We will certainly be back!

Great little house in a charming village.
If you are looking a spacious apartment in a quiet storybook village surrounded by art-filled Chateau, with a great patisserie, a thriving Sunday market, great restaurants and vineyards then this is the place for you. The white cliffs/caves and Loire river are also cool. Literally. Super nice and helpful owner.

Great house and location. Tight in the middle of a nice village in the Loire.
As per the title. The house is great. Feels really “solid” and tastefully decorated. B straightforward - no deposits or cleaning fees etc so really easy. Reason for 4 stars was that during our stay, much of the village was closed due to long term road and (I think) drainage works. So our experience different from how it would be in the summer when they are finished. But I’d definitely come again which is the main thing.

A perfect place in every way
What a wonderful time we had at le Seize! From the moment of booking, Glyn and John took excellent care of us. The house is utterly charming - situated in a beautiful village on the Loire with its very own impressive chateau. Every comfort is provided to create a cosy, clean and beautifully furnished space. The wood fire was wonderful! Bedrooms and bathrooms have everything you'd wish for, and everything provided in the kitchen to make self-catering a breeze. The property has been renovated and decorated to a very high standard. Parking easily found in the street nearby. We thoroughly recommend this property for an unbeatable base to explore the many marvels of this region. Thank you again to Glyn and John for such a perfect stay!

Relaxing break by the Loire
We hivered about going abroad but we were so glad that we did & that we chose Montsoreau. The house was beautiful and contained everything we needed for our stay. The enclosed courtyard was a lovely spot to sit and enjoy a glass of wine or when it was warm enough to eat outside. There are two ensuite bedrooms, we used the one on the top floor because we liked to view from the windows. The village has an excellent bakery & a butcher as well as bars and good restaurants. Montsoreau is well placed for visiting historic sites in the area. We went to Fontevraud Abbey, Chateau de l'Islette, Musée des Blindés, and a gala evening put at the Cadre Noir, but there were lots of other options. We would certainly return to Montsoreau and Le Seize

Glyn and John really gave us such a fine gift for Christmas with a beautiful house is such a lovely town. The renovated house still has that brand new feeling and is outfitted with absolutely everything you need to relax and enjoy your stay. They really thought out what makes things enjoyable. We like to cook and it was great to have things like sharp knives and even kitchen shears (!) which made the enjoyment of the bounty from the local markets even better. They really have created a space for a top notch experience and gave us all the help we needed. They pointed us to their favorite restaurants and even helped us find a wonderful place for a Christmas lunch. We were very sad to leave.

We loved our stay in Le Seize, Montsoreau. The house is lovely, lots of period detail, finished to a very high standard and really tastefully decorated. Well thought out, comfy beds, all mod cons. Glyn and John could not have been more helpful. Montsoreau is gorgeous, the Sunday market really bustling and great produce, good restaurants. We didn’t know the area but we fell in love with it and there’s masses to do and see. The kids loved the interactive iPads at Chinon castle which brought the place to life. But the highlight was a swim in the river near the stunning Chenonceau chateau. We’ll be back and wouldn’t hesitate to stay at Le Seize again

Couldn’t fault anything about this beautiful little house and it’s setting in gorgeous Montsoreau. It was all we’d hoped for. Glyn and John couldn’t have been more helpful. I was slightly worried about parking before we came but in fact we found plenty nearby. It was lovely to be within walking distance of several bars and restaurants, but also to have everything we needed to cook at home and enjoy the lovely little walled patio. Overall a very well restored holiday home and lived up to the description and photographs. Only down side of no view from outside seating area and unreliable wi-fi. (this may have been a one off but the owner was unavailable to assist. If self catering a little light on cooking/ovenproof dishes, otherwise excellent.
