"Danford's has always been a classic icon in Port Jefferson harbor, and after having lived in the area for over 25 years before relocating to Florida my family was excited to finally stay at the Inn. We found its coastal decor charming and the views of the harbor sunset gorgeous, it was also fun to be in the center of all the village activity. "The day I checked out, I started with a shower. However, I did not finish the shower because the vertical metal handle came away from the wall. Since I am already handicapped, I became quite nervous. Thank God I was able to maneuver myself out of the tub without falling. I reported this when I checked out and suggested that no one use that room until the wall/handle were fixed. "

"The only factor that kept this from being a 5 star stay for me was audible: The music pumped throughout the common areas of the hotel, all day, every day, consists predominantly of outdated nightclub/dance hits, which, for me anyway, quickly became tiresome, distracting (loud in the courtyard), and added an element of cheese to The Inn's otherwise more elegant, relaxed aesthetic. Otherwise: Staff is excellent. Hotel is beautiful. Food is pretty good. Cookies are addictive! "
