"Honestly this place was great. I saw birds roght out my patio window and looked out to the mountains. It was a great value and the owner and his family were very friendly and welcoming. Take the short hike to the top of the property and enjoy an amazing view. This was such a cool place to stay. The room was extremely comfortable."

"Hotel Ciprese was a last minute choice for me and it was the best I could have chosen. It was clean, safe, near town, had a delicious breakfast, and the staff was excellent for recommending local events and tours and helped point me in the right direction. I would 100% stay here again!"

"This place was an absolute gem just outside of La Fortuna. The grounds were bigger and more beautiful than we expected based on the photos. The staff were attentive and so lovely to chat with (thank you so much Jose and Fernanda for making our stay so special). The eight thermal pools were lovely for an afternoon dip, and we loved that we could sit at the swim up bar or be in the covered hot tub when the afternoon rains came. Our room was spacious and the wife loved the hammock and the jacuzzi. Thank you to the housekeeping staff for restocking our coffee, providing meringues, and making fun little towel animals each day. WiFi worked well, parking was easy, and we loved opening the screen door and listening to the rain each afternoon.
Our absolute favorite part of the resort was the sloths. We saw them twice near the front office and got lucky to catch one crossing the road just before we left which was such an amazing end to our trip! The only negative about this resort is the prices in the bar and restaurant. The dinner quality is okay, but we had much better quality dishes in town. Drinks are very spendy so we didn’t spend as much time at the resort or by the pool as we thought we would give how expensive they were. We really wanted to like La Saca, but having two meals there with very dry chicken, we were a little disappointed. However the staff at the restaurant were amazing!
We will absolutely return to the property on our next visit to La Fortuna!"
"We reserved for the view which was everything we thought it would be and more. We found that above all, the staff was the best! We felt at home. We have someone who cant walk far or manged the holls and they carted us to and from the other areas of the hotel! They arranged activites and gave us the Pura Vita vibe!"
"Amazing views of the now inactive volcano, with plenty of easy hiking routes around your room, since the hotel is situated within the national park. A birder’s paradise, with a small museum about the volcano and the history of the area. We had a birding tour booked through the hotel with Raúl Obregón, whom we highly, highly recommend! Raúl is passionate about birds, knows their habits, and will share his passion with you.
The room is comfortable, though not luxurious. WiFi is only available on/next to the balcony and in common areas. Be aware that to maximize ventilation the area near the ceiling is only screened, so you can hear everyone in the rooms around you. But the trade off of being immersed in nature is worth it.
The onsite restaurant serves pretty good food, although for variety you may want to leave a few times during your stay. Be aware that the road up to the hotel does wash out, so you may be in for a rough (but short) ride up from the main road until you reach the entrance gate. "
