“Upon our arrival we were upgraded to a suite and it was excellent. the front desk staff were super accommodating and always seemed to be working, no matter the hours. The rooms are spacious and super clean. We rented a car and there was underground parking. We love walking and could easily walk to the old town ( about 20 minutes) and eat and shop. However, there was also an amazing bakery about one block ( around the corner)from our hotel where we picked up breakfast and sandwiches for the day.……

“The owner is amazing. My phone had died so I didn't directions to get to the hotel. I found a shop owner that called her and she walked 10 minutes to where I was and walked me back. Each room is individualize and mine had a private entrance. There were lots of personal touches that made the place feel special. I can't recommend this hotel more. If I am ever back in Chania I will stay here again.”

“The staff were all very friendly and plenty of them speak English. The condition of the room was fanatic! Even though the building is very old, since it’s located in the center of “Old Town Chania”, inside you’d swear you’re in a newly built luxury hotel. Very centrally located for walking everywhere!”

“Tolle kleine Anlage, gepflegt, sauberer Pool. Babypool überdacht. Zimmer ausreichend groß, tolle Terrasse. Bad etwas klein, aber heißes Wasser, guter Wasserdruck. Zimmerreinigung super. Frühstück viel Auswahl, zu bestimmter Uhrzeit fast zu wenig Sitzplätze. Parkplatz vor dem Hotel, abseits der Straße. Nachts ruhig. In der Umgebung viele Restaurants. Strandnah, Strand war ok. Wir würden wieder kommen.”

“Godt renhold og hyggelig betjening. Lite kjøkkenutstyr til å lage egen mat. Det burde være minimum en vannkoker og vaskemulighet for klær. Vaskeriet var ca 1,5km fra hotellet.”

“Fint hotell og bra beliggenhet. renhold kunne vært bedre, og rommet hadde nok engang vært røykerom så det hang litt gammel røykelukt igjen…”

“Utrolig flinke mennesker.. Kogeplader og køleskab kunne godt tåle en opgradering,men..... brugte det ikke så meget... tænkte mere på strømbesparelse....”

“Das Preis-leistungsverhältnis ist angemessen. Wer eine günstige Unterkunft, nur zum übernachten sucht wird es in Ordnung finden. Die Reinigungskraft hat täglich die Räumlichkeiten gereinigt und das Bett gemacht, das war positiv. Leider ist die Unterkunft 45-50 Minuten fußläufig vom Strand entfernt. Auch ins Stadtzentrum und zum venezianischen Hafen läuft man mindestens 40 Minuten. Die Bushaltestelle ist in der Nähe, man muss aber gut auf die Abfahrtzeiten achten. ”

“We absolutely loved everything about this hotel. Friendly staff, comfortable room and common areas, very clean and well looked after, pool a bit cold (end of May). Breakfast and dinner tasty however food could’ve been warmer. Just a short drive from a beautiful Falassarna beach. Nice and quiet, private and not crowded as only 15 rooms at this property. Situated in the heart of a small village, surrounded by taverns but not much to do in the area itself. Good if you have a transport to explore……

“Tolle und große Wohnung mit schöner Aussicht. Die beiden Schlafcouches waren sehr breit und bequem. Die begehbare Regendusche sauber und modern. Die Lage ist fantastisch. Zwei kleine Mankos sind, dass die Liegen am Strand nicht inklusive sind (10€ zwei liegen und Schirm) und die Küche keine Minimalausstattung wie Salz,Pfeffer und Öl hat. Das sind aber wirklich Kleinigkeiten.”

“Väldigt personligt och med bra läge. Epas fick oss att känna oss väldigt väl omhändertagna. Lyxig frukost bredvid poolen med lokalt odlade råvaror. Stort och fint rum”

“A great place to stay for families where you have a pool and also the ocean right there. The bar and grill is always ready to provide a snack or a meal. If you like to party, there are several resorts down the beach like Cabana Mare. Eden is very quiet and the staff will do whatever it takes to make your stay just what you want it to be ”

“We had a great stay at Kanso rooms! The room was clean and the bed was extremely comfy! Staff was very helpfully and friendly! Easy bus route to get to Chania, but a car needed to get around to the rest of the island! Would recommend anyone to stay here! ”

“The flat was brilliant and not too distant from the old town - 10 minute walk. However when I arrived at the property there was no receptionist and a sign pointing to the e-reception. I rang the bell on the keypad and got no response. I finally found a phone number and got through to someone who gave me a code to access my key - it was a real pain to search for a number I could contact them on - they had contacted me by email the day before to ask for my arrival time, and could easily have given……

“We stayed at Portou House for 5 nights and had an excellent time. Very good location in Chania Old Town. Communication was great from start to finish with Julia being very responsive. We were pleasantly surprised with a bottle of wine for my Partner’s birthday which was a nice touch. The only feedback we would have is that there was no full length mirror - think it would be good to consider including in the rooms. Many thanks Julia and team at Portou House. ”

“Wir haben die Villa im Dunkeln erreicht, über den holprigen Weg. Pon hat sich im Vorfeld alle Mühe gegeben undxuns eine sehr gute Wegbeschreibung gesendet. Mit etwas Fahrgeschick, ist der Weg gut zu meistern. Wir haben die Autovermietung genutzt, die Pon seinen Gästen empfiehlt. Dasckann ich nurvunterstreichen, wir wurden am Flughafen von einem Mitarbeiter empfangen und uns wurde ein tadellos sauberes, neues Auto übergeben. In der Villa angekommen, konnten wir einen ersten Eindruck vom Äußeren……

“Very clean hotel, daily room cleaning. Very welcoming and attentive staff. Magnificent flower garden very well maintained. Very nice pool area. The last day we had to leave very early in the morning for our return to the airport, and the manager prepared the breakfast buffet for us at 6:30 am instead of normally 8:00 am. I highly recommend, and I will be happy to come back if possible.”
